About The message
Welcome to “The message”: this version of the Bible will connect you with the real meaning of the Scriptures.
“The message” (MSG): the Bible in contemporary English written by Eugene Peterson, a clergyman, scholar, professor and author born in the United States.
He served 29 years to the Presbyterian Church in Maryland. His notable work was to create a Bible more understandable and accessible to the modern reader.
The Message, published in 2002, tries to recapture the Word in the words we use today. Peterson translated from the original languages using contemporary slang from the United States. It’s an idiomatic Bible, designed to help the readers to feel the Word in the same way the early readers did.
