กรมคุ้มครองสิทธิและเสรีภาพ กระทรวงยุติธรรม
ตามกฎกระทรวง แบ่งส่วนราชการ กรมคุ้มครองสิทธิและเสรีภาพ กระทรวงยุติธรรม พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๕ อาศัยอำนาจตามความในมาตรา ๘ ฉ แห่งพระราชบัญญัติระเบียบบริหารราชการแผ่นดิน (ฉบับที่ ๔)พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๓ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงยุติธรรมออกกฎกระทรวงไว้ดังต่อไปนี้
ให้กรมคุ้มครองสิทธิและเสรีภาพ มีภาระกิจเกี่่ยวกับสิทธิและเสรีภาพที่ประชาชนพึงได้รับตามกฎหมาย โดยการจัดวางระบบและส่งเสริมให้ประชาชนมีความรู้เกี่ยวกับกรมคุ้มครองสิทธิและเสรีภาพตลอดจนการดำเนินการให้พยาน ผู้เสียหาย และจำเลยในคดีอาญา ได้รับการคุ้มครองช่วยเหลือ เยียวยาในเบื้องต้น เพื่อให้ประชาชนได้รับการคุ้มครองและดูแลจากรัฐอย่างทั่วถึงและเท่าเทียมกัน โดยให้มีอำนาจหน้าที่ดังต่อไปนี้
(1) จัดระบบการบริหารจัดการด้านคุ้มครองสิทธิและเสรีภาพของประชาชน
(2) ส่งเสริมและพัฒนาการคุ้มครองสิทธิและเสรีภาพของประชาชน
(3) ส่งเสริมและพัฒนากลไกการระงับข้อพิพาทในสังคม
(4) ประสานงานด้านคุ้มครองสิทธิและเสรีภาพกับภาครัฐและเอกชน ทั้งในและต่างประเทศ
(5) พัฒนาระบบ มาตรการ และดำเนินการช่วยเหลือประชาชนที่ตกเป็นเหยื่ออาชญากรรม รวมทั้งจำเลยที่ถูกดำเนินคดีอาญาโดยมิได้เป็นผู้กระทำความผิดตามกฎหมายว่าด้วยค่าตอบแทนผู้เสียหายและค่าทดแทนและค่าใช้จ่ายแก่จำเลยในคดีอาญา
(6) ติดตามและประเมินผลการดำเนินการด้านการคุ้มครองสิทธิและเสรีภาพ
(7) ดำเนินการคุ้มครองพยานตามกฎหมายว่าด้วยการคุ้มครองพยานในคดีอาญา
(8) ปฏิบัติการอื่นใดตามที่กฎหมายกำหนดให้เป็นอำนาจหน้าที่ของกรม หรือตามที่กระทรวงหรือคณะรัฐมนตรีมอบหมาย

แอพพลิเคชั่น "RLPD Service" จัดทำขึ้นเพื่อใช้เป็นช่องทางในการติดตามผลการดำเนินการในการให้บริการประชาชน ในส่วนของการช่วยเหลือทางการเงินแก่ผู้เสียหายและจำเลยในคดีอาญา และงานกองทุนยุติธรรม โดยสามารถสืบค้นได้โดยใช้เลขบัตรประจำตัวประชาชน หรือเลขรับคำขอ ซึ่งออกให้โดยเจ้าหน้าที่หรือพนักงานคุ้มครองสิทธิและเสรีภาพ ที่ประจำอยู่ ณ หน่วยงานดังต่อไปนี้
