Holy Bible. Old Testament and New Testament
The Old Testament either refers to the 39 canonical books of the Hebrew Scriptures written prior to the coming of Christ, or to the time period before Christ came, when God's people belonged to the nation of Israel. A better translation for "Old Testament" would probably be "Old Covenant", while some also prefer "First Testament."
The Bible is divided up into sections that help us understand what we are reading. Just like when you read the newspaper that has a sports section, a financial section, the front page stories, and all the rest; the Bible is divided up into helpful sections.
The Law (Torah):
Includes Genesis through Deuteronomy.
Mostly stories/narratives that run in chronological order
Historical Books:
Includes Joshua-Esther and Lamentations
Wisdom Writings:
Includes Job-Song of Songs
Prophets:
Divided into two sections based on length (Major=longer, Minor = shorter):
Major Prophets: Isaiah-Daniel
Minor Prophets: Hosea-Malachi

I downloaded this app to range my view of religion and point out hilarious details during "discussions" I could say. this is the old testament, so I also downloaded the new testament, but in all honesty this app is fairly well designed, there is a search bar for certain content and I recommend it for purposes similar to my own or to any christian who desires actually acknowledging their own religion.

As the name suggests, I am a Muslim. I decided to read the Torah, as it is a divine book to us as well, but don't use it as we believe it has lost some of it's authenticity through time. But just to see how much it has lost, I decided to give it a read. This is, at least to me, without question a book of God, and is VERY similar to the Quran. Some of the book seemed a bit weird. Some aspects of some of the stories are a bit or very different, which is where I believe it has lost authenticity.
