Pupil Distance Measure | PD Meter for Android
Measured my pd a few times and it almost gave me almost the same number each time. However its a lot different than when i measured manually... Now im not so sure what my pd is... Will have to ask my optometrist.
Gave me a different reading each time. Hugely different when measured professionally. Seems like a scam to get elderly credit card numbers.
My eyes are very dark brown. I don't think it can accurately tell. Every time I try, I get a different number.
Followed instructions and retook pic a few times came up with same number! So good in my book
The app only accepting screen presses to take a photo makes it nearly impossible to take one with larger phones, but it does easily import photos which is a decent work-around. It's worth the cost.
I really liked this app, my numbers came back exactly the same. I will see if it was correct when my glasses come in.
Great app! Saved me a lot of trouble
Easy to use and does what it says. Why would you pay for it, cos it's cheap when you think what you are spending on glasses and need to get the PD correct.
Innacurate, misleading, very hard to use
Easy to use. I'll update review when glasses come in.
Easy to use! I hope the measurement is correct.
Was easy to use and well thought out.
Nice app to calculate PD very easily
Really works
Worked
worked perfectly
The author wants the user to take a picture of the back of the credit card ! This can result in the loss of money and other valuable and personal detailes. The back of the credit card contains the "vcc number " aka security number and the credit card numbers are emmbosed so it can be read very easily. Do not install !!!
This is much better than measuring PD by hand using a ruler or a buddy, especially my buddies because they can not sit still :-)
Don't know why someone would use this app more than once. Not worth the money.
Easy, clever, well designed at every point. Most importantly, the difference between a professional measurement was merely 0.5 mm.
Wow! This was far easier than all other online tutorials and rulers and such! Definitely using it for all my family!
so simple app takes half a minute to complete all processes
Very good and accurate
Worked perfectly. I notice one person mentioned they tried three times and got three different results. When I did it, I tried several times, many different lighting situations. Followed the instructions to a T. Got the same measurement every single time. I'm guessing they may have missed a detail in the instructions. Really wish my optometrist would just include the measurement in the prescription.
Watched the video and tried it out 3 different times and got the same result. I love the 5 second delay! It made it so much easier!
I like it, used it to double check my best guess and out of the 5 times it agreed.
Quite accurate imo
Measured three times, gave me different measurements each time. Waste of $2.
tried it several times and the app was not able to detect my pupils every time so i had to manually set the red targets which gave me different PD reading each time
Good way to eyeball your eyeballs I suppose
Too early to tell really, I just tried it one time so far
Waste of money
Accurate! I compared it with an optician's measurments. Besides, your PD is not a fixed measurment, it will vary slightly deoending if you're focusing on a close object or at a distance. My PD is 55.5 when I'm looking at my phone and 57 when I'm looking at the distance. I will order glasses with the largest measurment since I am nearsighted, but you should use the smallest measurment if you need glasses to read. I'm happy that I can measure my friend's PDs to help them order glasses online too.
Amethyst is wrong. Her review said your PRIA not a fixed measurement and it most certainly is. Most single vision wearers wouldn't have too much trouble, but an incorrect measurement can cause problems. Be careful with this.
The only difficult part is getting the picture. It's tricky to reach the shutter button while hold the phone in one hand and a card in the other. But once you get it, the app is very easy to use. I thought I knew my PD but wanted to confirm it. And this app confirmed what I thought!
Awkward to use, maybe allowing take picture button position to be moved as being in the middle at the bottom makes it hard to reach eventually had to hold the card in place by squeezing it between my chin and nose so i could use both hands. Also it would be better if you could zoom in more. I've had 5 goes and got a different measurement each time.
Much more accurate than my manual measurement. Took 4 pictures, all results came back the same. If youre having issues, I suspect it is because of your picture quality, because it worked great once my pictures were aligned properly. Clever product!
Excellent app. Follow the directions and retake the photo if needed, but this app works. I ended taking my daughter to the optometrist and he measured her at 55 and I came up with 54.5! Great app if you don't have your PD. I know others marked it lower, but if you follow the instructions it works great.
While this app is a nice idea, those who have larger phones and smaller hands will have a difficult time taking the needed picture. Talk about breaking your wrist. When taking your own picture with your own camera option to use in the app, the picture is shown sideways. Editing the picture to be sideways and select it again.. it still shows sideways.

It's a bit fiddly getting the vertical lines aligned well to edges of the credit card, and more fiddly getting the red cross hairs centered on pupils (being dark eyed doesn't help, LoL) but part of this may be due to I have big hands/finger tips. But I will say this, it returned consistent PD numbers over numerous cycles of using it. Consistently read either 62 or 62.5mm each of about 15 cycles of measurement. Using a PD stick (small mm ruler) and mirror I get 62 or 63. So I think this app is accurate.
