The old app is better. I do not like this new version app at all. Complicated for nothing. Wasted tax money payer for something worst. City administration just looks for something to do to spend money in useless things so that they can pocket more money in their pocket. Same thing as changing all speed limit sign from 40km/h to 30 and from 30 to 20. Imagine how much money put into that money pitch.
Old app was much better. This one wants tons of unnecessary permissions, you don't see how much the space will cost right away, and it just feels clumsier than before. The fee is now 7 cents as opposed to 20. That is the only good part.
The old app was already one of the worst apps I ever saw, not even using normal technologies for app development (it was a buggy webpage used as an app... Even beginners would never use that). But now this is even worst, how can they release such bloatware like that for a big company such a Transcontinental? They are making millions of $ out of this and they can't even release a proper simple app ? The worst is that they have the monopoly on this, only Transcontinental can make an app for stationnement de montreal because of some sketchy contract they have together. Old version was much better. Seems the people you use to build the app are incompetent. The email we recieved to update the app said if we update before a certain date we won't have to reenter all the info but i had to do it . Keeps and telling server connection error and no its not my phone because everything else on my phone is working fine.
Laziest attempt at an "app" I've ever seen. I assume the developers were paid in the several thousands, yet they weren't able to migrate databases for such a simple app. You can even find dev build artifacts while using it ("buddybuild"). Why can't the city go find competent developers instead of wasting taxpayer money on this? This city is filled with competent developpers, why go out of their way to hire crappy ones? Who's the technical manager that said "oh yeah this ok". The stench of laziness in this app is unbearable. Uninstalling.
Previous version was better. New interface is bad. For example you now need to select the time you want to stay and only on the next page you see how much it costs as opposed to seeing all this info on 1 page. Only pro is reduced fee and ability to save multiple cards.
A simple migration wasn't even done. Unacceptable, i had to create a new account. The app demands a lot of unnecesary android permissions. Very poor. I hope they improve
I like it. It serves it's purpose. I never had the old app so can't speak about that but it's good. I don't need to rush to the car. Only thing is I wish I could pay for the spot before the session expires and not lose the money I have in the current session. If that makes sense.
Old app worked fine. How many times can they bill the same spot for the same time? This one wants you to pay twice for last 10 minutes or sit by your phone waiting for the clock to run out. Of course if you leave early someone can pay a 3rd time for the same meter in the same 10 minutes. Why alert me at 10 mins instead of 1? Why not a setting? Support doesnt appear interested in fixing it. Clearly a $$ grab
This could be a great app, on par with others of its kind, BUT, why is there an extra charge to use it? Only in Montreal........everywhere else I am able to use the local convenient parking app with no extra charge, but Stationnement Montreal tags an extra .20 cents on to the parking fee?????? When they first launched it was an even more outrageous .40 cents per transaction!!!!!! How is it that we only have to pay extra to use this app in Montreal and not in other cities? Other places have developed the app, and do not charge extra or offer explanations that the extra fee is used for maintenance, management, operating and promotional costs like Medias Transcontinental S.E.N.C. says. Time to drop the extra fee........there should not be any charge to use this app, and drivers would use it more and the city would make more money for sure........ From a lot of reviews I have read (and people that have told me) IT IS TIME TO DROP ANY EXTRA CHARGES.......no explanations or justifications........NO EXTRA CHARGES. Just installed the update to this app.....no info or history was retained, so you have to redo all information.....very unprofessional. Still charging a Fee to use the app!
it looks that it's going to be a good app in a given moment but not yet. Is quiet buggy and dysfunctional. Still a lot of work to do to make it work for the users who are paying for this service. Without mentioning that the app is asking for too much permissions like why will the app need Bluetooth and SMS. Features like automatic renew every 30 minutes or accumulative renew.
The original app was excellent. This latest upgrade, besides working leaving aside useful functions (like renewing with one click or text msgs) and adding annoying fluff (like honking like a car), it allows to charge outside of charge times, which the old app prohibited (allowing it to actually tell us when parking was valid). This app just allowed me to pay for a spot I didn't need to pay for. Sloppy and frustrating!
I agree that the old version was better. It interface was much better. Also, as other users mentioned it, the e-mails I received to update the app said that if I updated right away I would not have to login into the app. Well, guess what? Not only did I have to login, but none of my information was there either. It's as if my profile never existed, as if I am a new user. Why send those misleading e-mails then?
No explanation for the sudden request of a thousand permissions. Plus from what im reading, unless you wait until your time is fully expired, adding extra time with nul qhatever time you have left. Nevermind. App no longer worth it.
A little bit better than the old one which had an interface straight out of the 18th century. But still have to pay an extra fee of 7 cents on every transactions. The app would be awsome if it could tell all the avaiable parking spaces, but I guess it would be way too useful..
Its good application very convenient but i wish i can switch my parking spot payment to another spot as sometimes u pay for a spot but then u find out u need to move to another area. So what u paid is just a waste
Old app better. No message to renew when expires. You have to renew with time leftover and of course you lose that time. Difficult interface. They have a monopoly on it so just accept it like a sheep and your good to go
New version is horrible. old version was way better. I don't like the fact that you can't see how much it will cost at the same time as adjusting the duration. Bring the old version back!!
Adding time to park in the same space is poorly designed. Would be nice if when you get down to the last few minutes you could have an add time to this space button.
You call it "upgrade"? I call it complete downgrade ????. First you remove the ability to add notes to a ticket. Then you still did not add the ability to extend parking. And to top it off you force us into upgrading? This is how crooks are doing business. Are you one of them? ??? ????
I don't understand the other users' comments. Both the old and new programs work seamlessly and are very useful. Is it possible they are using obsolete phones?
Old version of the app was much better ... this is so poorly done. I hope a fix is coming soon this is a real joke. However was employed to update this app clearly didn't care about the end result !
Terrible Impossible to do an expense account. only limited history of receipts. too many passwords asked. not intuitive. The older version much better.
It looks like you didnt even bother keeping/migrating current users database! I clicked on Login but was forced anyway to create a new account. Now my credit cards info and parking history are gone. Good job.
I liked the app before and it worked fine for me (aside from charging a fee for using it), but the permission requirements for this version seem overreaching. For example, what do you need my Bluetooth information for?
We paay over old payment...that is not correct!!! I have had ticket when I tried to pay same time finish ols payment...
The app itself if brillant, 1st version or second. That being said, once a spot is paid for, it should be paid for. Like with the physical meters. One shouldn't lose the last 5 - 10 minutes of their meter because they want to add some time. There should also be an option to pay for multiple meters and tracking them all. This would allow one to cover the parking for others if they don't have the app.
Got a reply from a human at the office!! Log onto the website from your computer. Update any info including re-entering credit card info. Save changes. Stop the phone app and restart it. It will work next time you open the app.

Used to be better. It will often not recognize my card or wont accept it but yet it did for months before. Its very annoying as you cant totally rely on this app anymore. Best advice: keep some change in your car or something in case the app lets you down like it did to me a couple of times. Update : it just happened again. It's really frustrating! And the customer service is always closed whenever it happens.
