The Sardar was true thinker and practical visionary & a doer .
As a young boy Vallabhbhai displayed qualities of organization and leadership that marked him out for his future role. Once as a sixth-form boy he organized a successful strike of his classmates that lasted for three days to teach a lesson to one of the teachers who was unduly fond of the rod.
Political thinkers of modern India have thought of State and State-individual relationships in a variety of ways and the concept of ‘Integral Humanism’ seems to be the cornerstone of Indian political thought.

In the evolution of the Indian political thought process, Vallabhbhai Patel stands out, says Sikata Panda in her book ‘Political Ideas of Vallabhbhai Patel’. The book enquires into his political values taking into account Rights and Liberty on the one hand and Equality and Justice on the other.

The India of today is certainly not the India of Sardar Patel's dreams. We are still far from the vision of the greatness he sought to achieve for the nation.
