Sweet Home WiFi Picture Backup for Android
I have a WD My Cloud EX4 NAS server. The WD app works ok but indiscriminately dumps every photo and video it can find into one folder. Also if you remove and re-add the NAS it will start backing everything all over again, ignorantly producing duplicates in the same folder. Enter Sweet Home..... this app is awesome and does all aformentioned tasks and more! Can't wait to see this app once fully developed.
Saved my skin, my wife's LG wasn't backing up to Google properly. Luckily I had installed the pay version on her phone and every time she plugged it in at home it backed up to our Synology NAS. It automatically puts her new pictures where she can see them with her desktop and tablet. It's better than 5 stars.
In just 2 minutes I was backing up all my files to my network drive. The feature that deletes old files from the device is HUGE for me. I take a lot of videos and run out of space all the time. This app has helped me save all my files and free up space on my phone. A really great app!
Up looks childish and unprofessional. But that's the only complain I have for this app. It does the one thing it is supposed to do very well!
Ever since the turn of the year into 2017, the app tries to sync but will ultimately just hang and fail. I see a quick flash of some kind of syntax error go by on the screen but it doesn't linger long enough for me to see exactly what it says. I tested the credentials and they work fine, and I can browse from a different computer altogether with the same credentials with no issues. Not sure what is going on with this app but I am no longer able to sync to my NAS.
failed to access share. did you enable windows file sharing ? i did everything that this app told me to do. please help me out... anyways i will give the app 3 stars. if it works out then i will give 5 for sure.
Great app but starting to show it's age. Not reliable for auto uploads since recent updates. I would glady pay for an updated version that worked as well as this version did on older Android versions.
Small in footprint, big in features. This app has stuff built-in like 'upload when charging' ,renaming of the filename the camera gave it, organizing in folders in dateschemes you choose. Connects via samba. Very important: it tells when uploads fail. Regularly, however, it will upload the whole bunch again instead of just unsynced stuff. Otherwise would've been definitely 5 stars.
This is a great app. I even use it on my kid's (6 and 11) tablets so I can keep a copy of all the goofy pictures they take. Works really well.
Ok but for some reason it keeps stopping and i have to restart... wait till it figures out where it stopped... then continues for a few mins before dropping off again. Pity, could be very good (Gal.S7)
Latest update to Windows has caused this little app to fail. There have been no updates to this app for about 3 years. I can only presume that the developers have abandoned it. They have not responded to any emails I have sent them. This is a big shame, as this was a wonderful app that did exactly what it said it would do and it did it perfectly and without problems. It is a shame that such a nice app like is no longer functional or available. The paid version has the same issues and has also not been updated in several years.
I'm an IT administrator for a company with 25K employee's. The configurations was a breeze and successfully logged into the server and verified the credentials. Was successfully able to browse the server folders which required the credentials I entered, so I know this is working. However, No matter what I try it constantly FAILs to Upload. Like most app developers, throwing ideas out there without proper R&D.
Exactly what I needed, backs up the photos on my phone to my nas when I'm home, organizes it by year, and delete the old stuff off my phone. It's a travesty that this is not a default feature of Android
Great program! So handy to have pictures upload automatically! However the "delete old files" doesn't seem to be working anymore. It's set for 1 week, but much older files are still present. Is there a "permission" setting to change? I'm on Android 5.0.1 on a Galaxy S4 with Bell.
This app just works, even though it's no longer maintained it still works with Android N beta 3! I have a share setup on my NAS and when I'm charging and on wifi it just kicks into gear and starts backing up!
I've been trying this for a while, and it's great for moving all those pictures and videos you shoot and preventing your phone from filling up. UPDATE: Ongoing problem (Aug 7 2015) : Files aren't deleting from SD card or phone but they are uploading as always
Used to work great on old phone. Installed on new s7 edge and now I get the following error. "java.io.IOException: Free memory low watermark reached". Emailed their support but never heard back.
Finally giving up on my NAS app for backup, due to slow transfer speeds, i turned to Sweet Home and wow it works perfectly! Love the option to catergeroize photos by folder , fantastic feature. Thanks Dev, great work!!!
Backs up photos and videos to my NAS drive as soon as I get home (albeit a little slowly). If it only backed up app data and settings too, or files other than media files, I would gladly pay!
Up looks childish and unprofessional. But that's the only complain I have for this app. It does the one thing it is supposed to do very well!
It's really nice, I enjoy it a lot. It was VERY straight forward and got me running within 2 minutes. I took a star off probably for the wrong reason, but I wish it would allow you to then download your saved file(s) to your phone again. I guess I'll use ES File Manager for that still. This app is definitely a keeper!
Suddenly doesn't see my windows shares and yet to hear back from support. I'm an IT guy and am fairly certain my network is in order. Appears latest update caused the issue.
failed to access share. did you enable windows file sharing ? i did everything that this app told me to do. please help me out... anyways i will give the app 3 stars. if it works out then i will give 5 for sure.
After using this app I stopped having to manually back up my files. They automatically backup to my NAS when phone is plugged in. Please stay free!
This app works but if you have a large amount of pictures to upload it seems to fail quite often and you have to keep re-starting it. Reading other reviews I've found if you actively browse the internet while it's uploading, it will keep the upload alive. I don't know the logic behind that but perhaps the developer could implement a continuous, say every 2 seconds, ping to the localhost or the active IP it's uploading to alongside the upload connection? Otherwise good app :)
It backed up my photos to my NAS, but it also used 2Gb of my data pan. Since my NAS isn't reachable from the internet, I'm assuming this app also sent my photos to a stranger, probably the author. I'd recommend NEVER USING THIS APP.
Bought the donate version thinking it would work fully, but gets so far then stops. Have to restart then it does a bit more, videos take ages to backup and even hangs then needs restart.
I don t have to worry any more if i backed up this and that.i just know it.
It shows input output error while uploading files.. Was working fine.. Hdd have space.. And i can access storage from lan
Lost a bunch of photos and videos because my phone died and it didn't have an external SD card. And since I don't like using "the cloud" I couldn't get back any of them. Found this app and now everything is saved for me on my own personal cloud, automatically! Thank You!!!
For those who are having issues with large files (videos) disconnecting in the middle of the transfer: I've been having this issue for years and I would have to retry the backup over and over until the large file finally completed. I was ready to switch to another app until I found this solution from just trial and error: On your PC, go to: Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security Policy. Then go to: Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options. Find "Microsoft network client: Amount of idle time required before suspending session" and change it to "60 minutes". Also find "Microsoft network server: Disconnect clients when logon hours expire" and change it to "Disabled". Then try running the backup again on your phone and you should have a much more stable connection. Hope that helps a lot of people out there with Microsoft's finicky SMB file system!
This app used to be perfect. It has not connected properly to my Windows 7 PC since June. My wife's no longer connects either. Shows an error message about Plain Text Passwords or just sits "Searching for network devices" forever. Not sure what happened and I've put in a lot of time trying various things to diagnose this problem because the app was fantastic when it actually worked. I couldn't find a way to contact the developer for support either. Frustrating.
Easy to setup and once it is, all your photos & vids are backed up automatically once you get back to your home network!
Amazing app! Totally recommended for image backup to NAS. I have a netgear R7000 and a desktop drive attached via USB. For the money of a separate NAS system I have a great router and a great drive working like a dedicated NAS. The amazing part of this app is that it trashes the Netgear recommended apps. Folder categorization of the exported photos and the ability to choose when you want to sync your phone along with harmonic cooperation of R-W protected folders are unbelievable features! Cheers!
Attempted to get support through link in app, but no response. App on numerous devices started writing about plain text passwords and won't work again until app data clear.
Does what it says! Been testing it for a few months... but please add other files than pictures.? Id liketo sync some other folders with no pictures
Simple once setup, but some initial options are a bit confusing. Now providing fast and reliable photo back for several months. Could use an interface update.
Wot upload my photos to my raspberry pi anymore was then best app ever a few years ago :-(
I´m using the Zenfone 2 and the picture start with P_XXX_XXX.jpg and video star with V_XXX_XXX.mp4 but the app seems can not add day prefix if the file does not star with IMG_xxx_xxx.jpg or vid_xxx_xxx.mp4. this problem really sucks.

I like the easy setup and it backs up nicely to NAS. But it wont let me name the backup folder. Instead it uses default folder names from phone and scatters them on the drive. I have 2 phones. Both have CAMERA DOWNLOADS DCIM etc. How do I keep them straight when I need a restore? Is there a way to have a Parent Folder per phone? If so I will buy multiple copies of paid version.
