About Septicycle Countdown Widgets

This package contains three home screen widgets, and one fully-independent information overlay.

REMINDER: This can only be as accurate as the time on your Android device is. It is strongly recommended to synchronize your phone against a reliable and accurate time source the morning of an Anomaly Event.

XM Anomaly Detector (w/launcher)
- Since we're not allowed to modify the client for any reason, this hovers on your screen directly above the agent badge on the Ingress client, and will give you the information about time remaining in the current anomaly period and measurement windows. Simply put, if you attend the anomaly events in person, this is the "game clock" you always wanted. Updated to be prepared for the 13Magnus Reawakens event series!

Graphical Countdown
- Recently refactored into a million sharp little pieces and then rebuilt from the ground up, this is where we keep most of the "fancy". Supports multiple display modes (Per Second and Per Minute for obsessives, Practical for people who are, well, more pragmatic). Now with newer, larger, and more readable digits. Faction themes are available, and this widget can be configured to launch Ingress when tapped.

Legacy Checkpoint and Legacy Septicycle
- Designed to replicate the appearance of a small section of the Intel screen from the client, these will get you the time remaining until the end of the septicycle or current checkpoint, respectively.

Graphical Septiclock Configuration (launcher)
- This is the configuration tool that controls anything user-configurable.

There is a G+ Community for beta testers interested in seeing new features and bugfixes early which anyone can join by going to the website URL shown below. I do not break existing features in beta versions (well... unless I typo something).

Those indicators around the right-hand side of the graphical widget aren't just decoration, by the way. They show which checkpoint (inner) and cycle (outer) you are currently in.

A note about power consumption: These programs are all pretty much stripped down to doing the bare minimum they need to be doing. That having been said, if you want something that pushes a screen update 60 times a minute (potentially 86,400 times a day) don't be surprised that it uses _some_ CPU power. If this is a concern for you, use the graphical widget in 'Practical' mode which updates based on how close the next checkpoint is. For the first two hours it only updates every fifteen minutes. By the time the checkpoint is ten minutes away, it updates once per minute, and starts a by-the-second countdown when there's only one minute remaining.

Just about *everything* was rewritten to get around the changes that happened with Android 5.0. Everything works again, and is now even more power-efficient than before. The XM Anomaly Detector (for example) should weigh in at less than 2% utilization.

The author of the widgets is *not* associated with Niantic Labs (the publishers of Ingress) in any way. I am just another OCD hacker on the Internet. There are no ads, and there are unlikely to ever be any ads (in part because there's absolutely nowhere to put them). This application requires no special permissions, and is utterly uninterested in anything beyond what time it is. For your own safety it is recommended you do not attempt to use these widgets from inside an active volcano, or in any location where time is no longer contiguous. Seriously, don't complain to me if your phone crashes because time ran backwards or sideways or something.

Very handy home screen widget. Working perfectly with latest release. And developer responds quickly if you need help.

C70%
by C####:

The septicycle counter is off by one checkpoint.

K70%
by K####:

Broken. Keeps force closing. Used it about a year and now it isn't working, after two un/reinstalls. LG G6

I70%
by I####:

(Review rewritten) I was a confused by "cycle" events in the timeline. These are not the same as septicycles. The app is good and the developers are responsive :)

T70%
by T####:

So I really liked having this on my home screen, but the last update whacked it and now the counter is blank. Uninstall/Reinstall didn't fix it. Help? :(

S70%
by S####:

So what's the word on this. Are they still updating it ? Don't really know what the count downs are for. I'm not sure how but my phone already had an ingress widget. It says 1:00 am for me but it's 6:am. What is the count down for ?

S70%
by S####:

I installed this app and it showed that we started a new cycle the day before. However, the new cycle didn't start until two days later. Also, even though I selected Enlightenment, my widgets display in blue.

S70%
by S####:

I have the app set to display for the Resistance but the checkpoint timer keeps switching to Enlightened colors

S70%
by S####:

Works the majority of the time aome glitches.

S70%

Nice looking, and works, which are the two most important things in an app or widget.

I loved this app out of the box because of its simplicity and effectiveness, but twice now it has displayed the wrong countdown time for me. It's almost like it gets confused if the phone is shut off or something. This last time, it showed 2h 7m until checkpoint when the checkpoint was actually about 4 hours away.

A70%
by A####:

Great app with smooth design.

Looks great and does what it says on the tin

My favorite

O70%

This is an awesome widget, a must for ingress. The only thing that I miss is the ability to open the app from the widget.

Q70%
by Q####:

Great! Would love to have transparent background and the ability to change font colour though.

T70%
by T####:

Recently upgraded my device, worked perfectly on LG g3, it no longer counts down on precise mode on LG g4, it stays the same time until the widget is pressed and then it resets but still does not count down.

G70%
by G####:

Love description and changelog

E70%
by E####:

It has huge advantages over the stock Ingress widgets. Energy consumption is considerable when set to "precise" instead of "practical". Per author's suggestion I changed that yielding the desired effect and am using the combine widget for the time being. Would be great if that setting also applied to the rectangular widgets (suggestion) and finding the settings (by opening the "app" from the Play store) could have been easier :)

T70%

The only widgets I use. Normally I'm not a fan of widgets, but these are a must have for Ingress.

H70%
by H####:

Great for what it does. Would be nice to have the widget open the Ingress app.

T70%
by T####:

I love the size of the widgets, and the information they convey is clear and concise. The only reason for 4 stars is I have observed that on my non-rooted Samsung Galaxy Note 4, currently both the checkpoint and septicycle widgets stopped updating at the exact same time, and it has been that way for several hours now. I imagine rebooting would probably fix it, but I thought I'd hold off in case there is anything I can do to help troubleshoot it. Otherwise, a 5 star app. And I love the Play Store icon!

T70%
by T####:

I'm not much of a widget person, but that one is great!!

T70%
by T####:

Quick reference for Check Points and Septicycles.

T70%
by T####:

Very convenient to check the times of upcoming checkpoints.

T70%
by T####:

Very cool widget. Gives realtime info for septicycle scoring and timeline.
