Recompiled and adjusted for Android Lollipop (Version 5.0), Checkbook Genius has been around since 2009 and has helped thousands of users avoid overdraft fees not just by flagging accounts that are negative, but when they’re getting low. Low balances – you pick what’s “low” – are flagged in yellow, while zero or negative balances are flagged in red. And you can see all your accounts in one handy place!
An easy-to-use interface makes it a snap to enter checks (with automatic check numbering), withdrawals, deposits, and more. If you pay bills online, there’s even a place for you to type in confirmation or reference numbers!
Handle transactions you create on a monthly basis in one of two simple ways. Presets let you specify a payee and an amount, and you can edit a preset any time if changes are needed. Or create recurring transactions – you schedule for transactions to be automatically posted to the accounts of your choice, and when the post date arrives (or if it has passed), you simply approve each transaction to have it written to the account and your balance adjusted. No surprises!
Reconciliation is also easy – Checkbook Genius can bring up a single screen where you can see a total of all your uncleared transactions. Then you tap another button to automatically create an adjusting entry in your checking account. If you need to clear a bunch of transactions as a batch, that’s easy, too – you can mark every transaction in your account with one action, or specify a cutoff date.
Checkbook Genius also has a handy backup center, making it easy for you to migrate your Checkbook Genius data from one Android device to another.

I bought this needing a more user friendly checkbook. My only wish would be that I wish I could pull it up online like a website like my old checkbook app, so that if I'm on the computer at home I could balance and see accounts that way too!

Love this app for managing my checkbook. My only complaint is that there used to be an option for the app to load right to the "Manage Transactions" portion of an account. I wish it was still there. Everytime I have to open the app, I have to click manage accounts, then the only account I have in there (my checking one), then manage transactions. Wish it went right to the transactions list

One of the things I was looking for was a way to remove cleared deposits and payments. This keeps a clean ledger.

I've tried everu check register app on Play Store, this is the best. Missing 1 feature though, "hide cleared" it has the option to permanently removed cleared transactions, but I would love to be abke to hide/unhide cleared as needed.

For the next update I would recommend either adding "Debit" & "Credit" under "Type" or change "Addition" to "Credit" and "Subtraction" to "Debit"

Paid for this to be installed. It kept giving me an error. So i uninstalled thinking i would get a refund since it had only been 5 mins since install. I was wrong. I installed again and yet again i paid for it again. So far no error messages. But still not happy that i had to pay for this twice. Will give it more stars after i work with the app for a month our so.

Great app. This was the first of about 5 checkbook apps I tried this weekend that actually worked correctly on my Galaxy Tab S 10.5. Sticking with this one!

I love this app but I would like to see it have the option to select different reoccuring dates like every 2 weeks or every 4 weeks due to pay every 2 weeks. I would also like to see a catagory section. But greatest register app by far for samsung tab and phone.

Works great except because I have a touchscreen only HTC Evo Smartphone I get an error message every single time I open it. I back out of the error and it's all fixed but that error sure is annoying.

Whenever I first click on the account I want to manage it takes me directly to the backup center and tells me I have an error. I have to hit the back button to get to the menu to maintain my account. It would be helpful to be able to get an overview of how much I spend in each catagory.

It takes a lot of steps to enter a transaction. Developer is very good at responding. I just need fewer steps to enter transaction.

Works great until something happens to your phone. My Samsung Note doesn't have an SD card slot so when my dog killed it, I have no way to get the last year and a half of data back. I'm going to look for a program with online storage so like all my other programs I can always download it to a new phone if something happens.
