AMURRIO CLUB

El Amurrio Club se fundó en 1949 en la categoría de 3ª regional Bizkaina, siendo su primer presidente D. Jose Mª Soroa Gómez. Pasados 40 años de la mano del entonces presidente D. Fernando Urkijo pasa a formar parte de la Federacion Alavesa en la categoría de primera regional, ascendiendo esa misma temporada a la categoría de preferente y en la temporada 1991/92 se asciende por primera vez a la categoría de Tercera División, categoría en la que se está actualmente y con esta es la onceava temporada, ya en la temporada 1993/94, se asciende a Segunda B la mayor categoría donde se ha estado y consiguiendo estar 12 temporadas, 10 de ellas consecutivas. En la temporada 2000/01 se lucho por el ascenso a Segunda División como mayor logro, además de haber jugado la copa tres veces, durante las temporadas 2000/01 contra el Athletic Club de Bilbao, 2001/02 también contra el Athletic Club de Bilbao y 2003/04 contra el Racing de Santander. Han salido futbolistas de renombre como son por ejemplo Iñaki Bea (actual segundo entrenador del Éibar), entrenadores como por ejemplo Jon Aspiazu (actualmente segundo entrenador en el Barça).
