Patch does have home button go to CHU when in dock. However, on galaxy nexus, pursuing the home button when in hand return to a home when with no apps, take a free second, then sod appear. This is 50% of the time.

This works on my Nexus 4. It is a little bit weird to have to have a different launcher than stock but since this was removed with Jelly Bean, this is the best option to get car mode to work normal again.

This turned an extremely frustrating issue for me to a minor inconvenience. Thanks for this!!

Fixes the issue. However, it causes the "add to homescreen" from any Web browser to fail, since this patch is a home screen override. To allow for shortcuts to be added, you must: clear this app as a default home screen > add desired item to home screen > launch car home and when given the "complete action using" option, choose to always have the patch as home screen. It's lengthy, but hopefully it will save others the time I lost trying to figure out why my device was not creating shortcuts.

Does its job when car home is running, but now the home button doesn't work when car home is not running. Please do fix this, it is pretty annoying.

Still not working correctly

Brilliant app for when using phone as a car dock - but no longer needed if running 4.4 KitKat as Google have finally re-instated the car dock mode.

This used to work properly now it prevents my phone from locking it's screen even when I'm not using car dock.

Don't like the fact that you have to use this patch to use the main app on Android 4.3. I wish that when you press the home button it would take you to the home page, with this patch you can't.

After installing this on my GS5 I had major problems if I restarted my phone. None of my startup apps launched, the wifi radio would never turn on, and I couldn't turn off my screen. Even trying to manually launch any of these things wouldn't work.

Works perfect for me using Nexus 4 + 4.2.2 + Apex launcher + tasker. I believe some people just don't understand how it is meant to work.

Google decided to remove the code that allows the home button override in jellybean so the home to carhome ultra was basically removed. At least until this patch came out! Just install, launch carhome ultra, press home to set carhome as default, exit to homescreen and it will ask you what launcher you want. I use Nova and was able to choose it and everything works perfect. Thanks thespinninghead for this patch!

Breaks the default launcher's funcionality that takes you the main tab if you press home a second time.

This app does what it says with my GNex 4.2.2 with the stock launcher. My only complaint is that it does not completely follow the home button's original behavior. If you were already on the home screen and you hit the home button, it would move you to your default page on your home screen - the app does not do that. Please consider adding this! Would be worth 5 stars if this functionality was included.

Now works with Nova launcher but breaks the Nova feature where pressing the home key twice opens the apps view.

Works as described. Hopefully Google restores that functionality so this patch is no longer necessary, though.

Previously this app didn't work for me because I use adw launcher. The latest update let's you select the right launcher and now works properly. The only thing you lose is home button function when the launcher is displayed.

Didn't work in droid mamx like on older droid razr maxx. This fixed it...

I can't turn my screen off after boot until home launcher is cleaned from recently running programs several times. That's annoying.

Worked prior to kit-kat, now does not.

This isn't needed anymore for Android 4.4 Kitkat .... car mode works as it should for 4.4 and the home button is properly captured by car home launchers like Car Home Ultra.

Caused all kinds of problems on note 3. Would not let me turn screen off. Would not load startup apps. Worked great before kitkat problems.

It's unfortunate that it takes this additional application to get a parent program to run properly. However very grateful to the developer for making this available. Instructions for installing need to be much more clear. For anybody running home2shortcut for programing the home button, you will want to select this program as the default. Do this even if you're running some other third party program for home button reprogram. You will have the option to set a default program outside of car mode too.

I understand the purpose of this patch, and my Galaxy S4 needs it. But now Touch Wiz won't jump to the first page when the home button is offere pressed. The screen flashes, but remains on same page. I also have the impression it causes a slight delay to access the home screen.

UPDATED: After receiving feedback from developer and changing a setting in CHU, this appears to work as advertised. The only drawback is interference with the default launcher behavior, which is a minor annoyance and can't be fixed except as a change to Android (don't know why Goodle decided to remove the ability for 3rd party apps to modify the Home Button. Anyway, now works as advertised and change to 5-star. Note to developer: I don't think there's anything in the Patch description indicating that you must check the "Enable Car Mode" setting in CHU in order for this to work. It might be in the CHU instructions, but you should put it here, too. (original review below) I've installed and set as default launcher, but doesn't return to CHU. The screen flickers, indicating that it does something, and the expected behavior of NOT returning to the default home screen is consistent. Just doesn't return to CHU. I am trying CHU for the first time, and have not installed the paid "unlocker" yet. Is that required before this patch/app will function correctly? Maybe the patch app is looking for the "paid" version, and doesn't work with the trial version?
