The 3D models in this app are based on photos taken by NASA spacecraft and both space-based and ground based telescopes. Because some of the moons around the gas giants have only been visited once or twice, we may have partially complete images. Missing surface detail for these moons is estimated from what can be seen.
In this solar system simulator, visit the brilliant blue-green planet Uranus, knocked onto its side by a massive collision. See the proto-planet Ceres which makes up one third of the mass of the asteroid belt. Travel to Neptune's moon Triton which orbits in the opposite direction to its other moon, Proteus. Take in the sights of the Jupiter's heavily scarred moon Callisto, its surface pockmarked by countless impact craters.

This app is a great way of learning about the solar system and looks absolutely stunning especially with a decent smartphone screen. The best part of the app apart from the space flight is the 3D image of Juno spacecraft that looks stunning and I can appreciate the effort of NASA. Please keep this up to date and please add new spacecraft as they launch or in the news. I appreciate your hard work keep up it.

I just updated it and now among the reality of the earth Neil have gone and up mythical monster santa going around. Take that thing off, so this can be a useful teaching tool.

Why does the earth always show one side in sunlight?? It should reflect the real scenario as the earth rotates- it always shows the Asian region in sunlight .This is basic stuff(like the world clock as seen in iPhone and Note 5) and should have been there in the Pro version . Other than that its a good app .

Love this app, & I have shown it to the children at the school where I work. It's been a great tool to teach them about the solar system by hooking my Samsung Galaxy tab up to the interactive whiteboard

This is very simple app to use but brilliant in it's information and presentation. A fantastic virtual (guided) tour of our heavens. My son and daughter and I, have spent hours learning, dreaming and getting closer because of what is so far away. Thank you Neil, for all that you have put in to this project and for all that we get out of it. One of our favorites!
