arcMedia Tab for Android
Worked great until a few weeks ago. Download media function not working properly anymore..... Once this gets resolved, I'd highly recommend.
HD video lags on TF prime. Wrote to the company and was told that they would release an update shortly but that was a month ago and still nothing. I asked for a refund and my email was ignored. Arc Tablet is the worst purchase I've made for my device. I completely regret not going with MX video player from the start.
The download media feature stopped working several weeks ago.
Plays everything on Motorola Xoom!!!
The description says you can stream from SAMBA. ** I can't see any trace of the word SAMBA / SMB / CIFS anywhere in this app, let alone figure out how you can stream anything over it!!! *** Not very intuitive! Doesn't seem to work on streaming either. I clicked on the "globe" which brings you to a nice menu to browse categories of free content. I tried a few times and when you pick some content and click "stream", it just shows you a spinning wheel forever after. **NOT** ready for prime time!!!!!
Product does not really work well on the Acer Tab as far as I can tell. Waste of money so far as it has problems finding movies and the interface is mostly useless. Apps are becoming a scam on many sites as they claim to do all kinds of things but really do not. How do I get my money back on this junk?
arcMedia Tab has played, and has managed to play smoothly, nearly every video I've tried it on. On the other hand, a lot of features relating to just sheer usability really need some work. Is it worth paying for? Yes, in my opinion arcMedia Tab's ability to smoothly play almost every video I've tried it on was worth the price. Does it need a LOT of work? Yes it does. For that reason I rated it as a 3, it deserves a 5 for its ability to play media and a 2 for its lack of usability and the interface.
The reason I bought it was the access to many online videos. But I come to find out I can't get any to download. I almost gave this a one to two star rating but gave it three in hopes the developers can fix the completely broken download features (which I can download via torrent programs separately). Obviously the issue is either with the sources of the downloads or the very basic and widely published (& already correctly working in other public source code) download algorithms. If this can't be fixed I want a refund.
Working very well on my ASUS Transformer :)
I needed a app that would play my movie files so I initially tried MoboPlayer which required a patch that doesn't unzip. So I gave this paid app a try and regretted that decision. The button to get refunded disappeared so that sucks. I tried .avi and .wmv format. Maybe when I have some time, I'll try converting these files to a different format to see if that work. Until then, I can't recommend this app. Oh well.
I guess the developer decided since he can't fix my issue, rather than refund my money, it would be easier to ignore me. Do not buy this app! Its got problems. Motorola Xoom ICS.
I had originally purchased arcMedia Pro and used it on my Droid X (running Froyo), but when I upgraded to a Droid X2 (running Gingerbread), the arcMedia Pro wouldn't work. I contacted the company, and they promptly refunded my original purchase so I could buy their arcMedia Tab (which runs beautifully under Gingerbread). Thank you arcMedia for your fantastic customer service and excellent products!
