About Locats: Automatic GPS tracking
Locats provides completely automatic GPS tracking, i.e. the ability to track your location and save it without the need to manually start/stop tracking. If you've ever used an app like CardioTrainer or RunKeeper, which tracks your performed activities (assuming you manually started/stopped them), haven't you become annoyed at having to manually start/stop trips all the time? Personally, I've been using such apps for a long time to track all my physical activities, and I've been annoyed at having to start/stop trips all the time.
Locats is a hobby project, and it most certainly contains bugs. IT IS EXPECTED THAT BATTERY DRAIN IS RATHER EXCESSIVE! Locats uses Google Play Services Activity Recognition at all times to detect whether you are running/walking/biking, and if so starts GPS tracking. This obviously drains battery, since it uses the accelerometer intermittently, and also starts GPS tracking sometimes, which drains battery. Please don't give it a bad rating just because of battery drain!
Features of the app (assuming no bugs):
* Automatically track your walks, runs and bike rides (with ability to see e.g. map of the trip, speed, duration, estimated calories burned, and more)
* Ability to inspect your current activity via a notification (and see e.g. current speed)
* Shows weekly/monthly statistics of your performed activities, like total hours/km walked, biked, and calories burned (rough estimate)
* Ability to manually add trips if you disabled the app or forgot to bring your phone for a while. These will also be included in weekly/monthly statistics calculations
* Visualization of photos taken during recorded trips, i.e. the ability to see where during trips you took photos

Just as advertised! Clean, to the point, trip tracking. It's nice that you can temporarily disable auto tracking if you want to save battery. Also, big plus for not trying to make you register for any accounts!
