Sine Wave Ear Training Quiz for Android
a quintessential asset for all audio engineers.
This is a quiz that has you hear frequencies ranging from 20 Hz to 20000 Hz.
You'll guess which frequency it is, and get a certain number of points depending on
how close you were. Each frequency tested is a generated sine wave, corresponding to a 31-band EQ.
Use with care; make sure that you turn the volume to a reasonable level to prevent hearing damage.
Try getting 440 points or above for a special treat! (440 Hz is the note that Orchestras tune to.)
Scoring System: 100 pts for the correct answer, -10 pts for each interval away you are away from the correct answer.
Disclaimer: Please use headphones with a frequency response of 20Hz to 20000Hz for the best results, as
your android device may not be able to play all of the frequencies in this range with its built-in speakers.
**Note**
If you enjoyed using this app, consider purchasing the premium version "Sine Wave Ear Training Premium" - it
has extra features, such as choosing a custom-range subset of frequencies to hear and is Ad-free!

Really great app, produces full bandwidth of tones 20-20k in 1/3rd 8ve bands, only issue is on my galaxy gio (running cm7) sometimes it wont produce tones all i need to do to fix is start a new quiz tho
So far this has been the best tone identification quiz for android I've found. If you could change the interface to be a little more user friendly it would be a 5 star app for sure. Galaxy S3
Would be nice to listen to tone again after submit answer. Also some tones do not play well even through good headphones, and that other audio apps do play those tones. Eg. 16k, 30-50hz
My phone cant play many of the tones. Would be far more useful if these tones were associated with musical notes, 440hz for A etc
There isn't a way to select an answer. Complete waste of time.

The only thing it needs is to let you chose between notes and frequencies, and it would be great if you had a way to track progress (and maybe limit the questions in one quiz so you can get a percentage for what you get right). Other than that is a great simple app that does exactly what it says it will.
Have not tried yet but if it does the trick I vote 5 stars.
Must buy for music majors. Would recommend to others!

Exactly what I was looking for, but just a couple refinements away from being a five star app. Mostly dealing with the user interface.
