Seesaw Parent & Family for Android
Great idea but terrible execution. UI is ugly and not intuitive. Can't view pictures with full screen. Can't move the pictures after zoomed in. Can't save or share pictures easily. Can't even exit the app unless hit the home button. A pretty amateur product in an age where average app quality is very high. I'm quite surprised that schools are actually using it.
It constantly says "we don't support playback on your Android please update or watch videos online". I've updated everything to the latest version and it simply WON'T PLAY VIDEOS at all. This app is worthless!
Great app, I use an android device and have no issues with video playback, however the notification don't work as expected. I do get them on my phone, but when I tap on it, my phone says he is not recognizing the link... I just open the app directly so it's fine, but it keeps me from giving it a 5 stars review.
Other reviewers have said the same thing... Video playback doesn't work on Android, which is kinda weird for 2017... Otherwise great little app - my daughter is so excited to show me her stuff on here.
The app is fine, but the video won't work on Android 7, which forces me to go to the website every time a new video is posted. For everything else (audio or pics), the app works as expected. Frustrating that you can't watch a video on a relatively recent version of Android. Galaxy S7 on Sprint
Need to fix app, not able to close it on 8.1 Pixel XL. Back button should close app...also multiple notifications are sent for the same thing. The developer has some work to do here.
Soooo slooooow! Hardly an app that "puts you in the classroom".... i get info quicker when my 2nd grader physically brings it home. Which is not good considering it takes a week.
Even with my software updated I still can't view videos on the app. That's a little frustrating! Controls are easy to use, and I love seeing all my child's work, just hate that I have to view the videos on my desktop!
Not a very useful app. Idea is great but execution is terrible. In order to save the pictures or actually watch the videos I have to use chrome which defeats the purpose of the app.
Last years seesaw was alot nicer. Esp for families with more than one child. I hate this new version. Stop messing with it.
Images show on top of each other, teachers can easily corrupt a student's profile, reliving a corrupted student profile is difficult, back button doesn't work as you would expect, finding content is confusing and seems disorganized without a clear purpose. The only good thing is teachers can add videos but it's not worth the other basic issues.
It would be nice if you could actually exit the app instead of having to press the home button. A few improvements might be: 1. The option to select the folder in which images are saved instead of the generic "pictures" folder. 2. Add a "save" option instead of finding it under "share". 3. Add an "exit app" option, instead of having to press the "home" button. Galaxy S6
I liked last year's version of Seesaw. This year is just confusing especially when you have more than 1 child or more than 1 class. Not a fan of Seesaw this year.
Extremely annoying that one cannot just exit the app. Have to press home button or kill it in the task manager. It's that I have to use it as my kid's school decided to ordain it. Horrible app experience.
It would be great and was awesome for a while, but can not view videos on Android anymore. I have Samsung S7 and all updates, but still does not work :(
Nice app, but it is annoying not being able to hit the back button to exit. Only way to close it is to hit the home button.
Can't exit app by pressing back button. Must hit home to get out. Other reviewers are complaining about the same thing. Please fix.
Poorly designed, have to force close to exit. Grateful to access the content though.
App is fine with one glaring exception: it's not possible to close the app using the back button. I have to force close it every time I use it. Super annoying.
Does not support video playback on Android Oreo, but suggests that I update to a newer version of Android. This is the most updated version.
Great for parent-child-teacher interacting. Android app is a little buggy - no way to exit out of it without killing it.
I'm a retired teacher and I would have loved to have this app available to me and my parents. I taught all areas of special education and this would have been a big help in explaining what we do during the day So getting to see my precious little grandson read is a special gift!
I would like to see an option where I can hold down on a picture and get a popup menu that allows me to save the picture to my phone.
Maybe I am doing something wrong but I can't seem to figure out how to get my phone to scan the QR code . When I go to scan the code it does nothing . Kind of irritating.
This is horrible or maybe the teacher is using it wrong but the comments from parents have to be approved, there is no way to contact the teacher, and the things being posted are confusing.
Violates Android UX standards. Back button should exit the app but does not.
The app does not close using the back key. I have to manually kill it every time I open it, so I avoid using it unless I have to.
I love that my child can make a video explaining what is going on at school. Especially since we all know how easily it is for them to forget what goes on at school by the time they get home. Such a wonderful idea. :)
Can't get of the intro page, just swipe between the three page pls fix. Stuck on welcome to seesaw page!!!
Can't see half of videos it says I have to update to iOS is this a Android app or what
Can not watch videos..my phone is fully up to date and still can not watch video
Garbage app qr scan doesn't work just show camera and won't scan don't download this.
I have android 7.0 and it says I need to update to watch the paybacks? There's no update. Please fix.
Makes communication with my son's teacher quick & easy as well as being able to get a real answer to "What did you do at school today?"
I love being able to see my childrens work while they are in class and being able to communicate with their teachers
I only download this cause my teacher said it shows my work so I did and it wasn't bad it actully shows everything I did it's a good app really good app keep up the work
Love to see my daughter work while the teachers are taking pictures it's awesome ????
I can talk to my mom and dad
The videos will not play, tells me I need to update my phones software, I have the newest version of android

Poorly developed and doesn't follow UI standards. It's not the most important app on the planet so the Android back button from home should minimise the app. Poor implementation all round. Absence of any feedback on this page from developers shows how unresponsive they are. Wrote to them and got a reply telling me basically, tough if the app doesn't close properly. Even basic developers know how to close an app.
