Maadteraahkas döttrar

Maadteraahkas döttrar är en saga berättad genom Augmented Reality. Med hjälp av samisk mytologi och fantasi får vi följa nåjden, den samiska schamanen, som visar vägen till de väsen som hemsökt Uppsala allt sedan Statens institut för rasbiologi en gång var verksamt här.

Maadteraahka är den samiska urmodern som håller både liv och död i sin hand. Hennes tre döttrar Saaraahka, Joeksaahka och Oksaahka är kraftfulla gudinnor som vanligtvis bor under kåtan för att skydda hemmet, men som nåjden kan åkalla i nöd. Statens institut för rasbiologi är en mörk del av svensk historia, dess teorier om ”rashygien” och dess rasistiska indelningar av bättre och sämre människor kränkte personer som tillhörde någon av minoriteterna – allra främst samerna. I Sápmi användes teorierna dessutom för att legitimera exploatering av befolkning och naturresurser. Aahkorna, en slags gudinnor som är väsen som inte är synliga för blotta ögat, kan upptäckas med den här appen; Maadterahkas döttrar. Med appen kan du lyssna till nåjdens berättelse om gudinnorna och varför de har kommit till Uppsala.

En aktivitet för hela familjen som på ett enkelt sätt bjuder in till samtal om människors lika värde, mångkultur och rasism.

With the help of Sami mythology and imagination we follow the shaman, the Sami shaman, showing the way to the beings that haunted Uppsala since the Swedish Institute for eugenics once operated here.

Maadteraahka the Sami first mother who holds life and death in his hands. Her three daughters Saaraahka, Joeksaahka and Oksaahka are powerful goddesses who usually live in the hut to protect the home, but the shaman can summon in need. National Institute for eugenics is a dark part of Swedish history, the theories of "racial hygiene" and its racist divisions of good and bad people wronged persons belonging to any of the minorities - most of all Sami. In Sápmi used theories addition to legitimate the exploitation of natural resources and population. Aahkorna, a kind of goddesses who are beings that are not visible to the naked eye, can be detected with this app; Maadterahkas daughters. With the app, you can listen to the shamans' story about goddesses and why they have come to Uppsala.

An activity for the whole family that easily invites to talk about human equality, multiculturalism and racism.
