Yin Yoga Timer for Android
I bought this hoping it would satisfy my need for a yoga timer where I could create my own sequences of time intervals for my own exercise routine. The huge problem is that 2 min is the SMALLEST interval you can put in. That's it. If you need to keep a pose for 30 sec/1min/1:30 etc. - that's just impossible. I missed the 15 min return period and now can't return this junk, but I at least can warn others: don't even think of getting it.
I purchased this but ended up returning it. It is intended as a YIN yoga timer as the name of the app says so the times shown on the screen shot are the ones you get. Although this is what I wanted it for, I returned it because I'd like to be able to see how much time is remaining for a pose. It just tells you that you started the 3 minute timer with no additional info until it gongs. The gong sound is nice but it may not be enough to rile me out of a pose that I've settled into.
it works!

It seemed to be just what I wanted: basic, simple to operate, no distracting clock face. Unfortunately it goes to sleep after a couple of minutes. I have upgraded my review after experimenting a bit more with the app. There are factors in the app which combine to give a very poor first impression: the buttons for selecting time intervals are too close together resulting in the choosing of different interval from the intended one; the "bong" is played at a very low level so you will not hear it unless your device volume is set fairly high; it lets my tablet screen go black and lock itself but the timer is still running and emits "bongs" at the correct times. Now that I am aware of these problems I find the app very good. It is very quick and easy to operate because there are no menus to select and no preferences to set. Just a few taps on the time interval buttons and you are away. You cannot save a sequence of time intervals but setting up a sequence is just as quickly done as loading a saved sequence would be. If you want "bells and whistles" such as setting a time for settling into a pose, or a warning when a time interval is coming to an end, or a clock face to show time progress, then this is not the app for you. This simple, rather boring, app keeps out of your way and lets you concentrate on the yoga. If the problems mentioned above were corrected, and if there was a time interval available between 5 and 10 minutes, I feel this app would be worth 5 stars.
