Toddler Flash Cards Lite for Android
This app is designed to help young children (and even babies) learn basic words in a fun and engaging way.
The lite version of the app contains 55 picture flash cards divided into 4 categories (Food, Around the House, Instruments and On the Body).
Each flash card includes a high quality image, text displaying the word and a clear audio recording speaking the word. While flipping through the pictures and playing with the voice, your child will be learning and having fun at the same time.
*NOTE: to increase the volume of the voice use your device's volume up button (probably the same as your ringer volume button) while the voice is playing. It should say "Media Volume" instead of "Ringer Volume".
The full version of this app contains over 170 flash cards divided over 10 categories and costs $0.99 in the market.
Features:
* High quality images
* Simple to use (child simply "swipes" to reveal the next card)
* Two flashcard categories
* Option to customize categories displayed
* Shuffle mode
* Voice playback of all the names
The problem: When the app opens, it shows the "settings" screen. There is a "go" button at the bottom, but due to the design and colors, it isn't obvious to my toddler. Most of the time he clicks on the icon to open the app, sees that page, pokes around the page, then backs out and he opens a different app. If the button was a big large obvious button in the center of the screen so that he couldn't miss it, it would be a much more useful app. Also if the settings page was behind a discreet button in the corner so that he didn't change the settings by accident. The good: Once he actually starts playing, the flashcards are nice. He knows how to swipe to the next card, which is intuitive, the voice is lovely, and the photos are high quality.
Awesome looks realistic :) But wish u could add more data to the same or a new app can be added .
Great app and sounds. I just wished, at least it has more cards even if its the Free version.
Needs more diversity in human images.
My granddaughter loves it. It gives us quality time together as I help her learn the sounds that go with the pictures.
Pretty good concept, I like it a lot. I wish it had more to it though.... different levels??
Excellent pictures. Please de-capitalise words though.
My baby is nearly two, and loves flashcards. Always asks to play "apples mummy" ;)
Nice set of flashcards
i tutor children with difficulties in reading. this apps is of a great help. thanks.
Photos capture nice details.
Great!
Great app. My 22 month old loves it.
Great app
These are not "flashcards". More like slides with audio attached. Toddler had zero interest in it. Upgrade pop up in beginning blocks first word
Pretty good. Vivid real life items not animated. I like that. I expected more cards though. Am looking for first reading words like the, that, is, once, my,etc.
Actually, best of flash card apps I have seen so far! Thank you very much!
Not a lot of flashcards, granddaughter already knew each one.
