Qiozk - Magazine Store for Android
The Qiozk service itself is great because it allows you to download the magazine as a PDF from their website and read it on the platform of your choice with any preferred PDF reader (such as the excellent Adobe Reader itself). At least, that is the case with the magazine that I read -- perhaps it doesn't apply to all of them. That's really what saves this service. The Qiozk app itself however is absolutely terrible. Logins and other main interactions take place through a built-in browser that behaves poorly and doesn't scale well to the device screen, and texts overlap. The reading mode is practically useless too with jerky movement / zooming and misaligned pages. Use Qiozk for the service itself, but not for the app -- which desperately needs to be rebuilt from scratch,
Good selection of magazines, but poor app. No option to pay with google wallet. A few overlapping texts in the interface. Not really smooth response times in zooming and turning pages.
Admittedly I'm on an Indonesian resort with a bad connection but the app works very poorly when connectivity is erratic. Economist app worked without hassle. GUI a bit slow and counterintuitive also.

The way this app handles, it feels like it is from 2001
