DPI And Screen Info

Pixels per inch (or PPI) is a measurement of the pixel density of an electronic image device, such as a mobile screen or television display. The PPI is related to the size of the display in inches and the total number of pixels in the horizontal and vertical directions. Horizontal and vertical density are usually the same, as most devices have square pixels. In simple words, it tells that how many pixels are there in 1 inch of your screen!

This app will enable you to find PPI of any display on earth! however, you need to know its resolution and screen size.PPI can be used to compare which screen is better. E.g a mobile phone with a screen size of 5.5 inches and a resolution of 1080x1920 has a PPI of 401. Similarly,another device with a screen size of 4.5 inches and a resolution of 720x1280 has a PPI of 326.Thus first display is better!

PPI is a very important metric to compare display quality of 2 devices.Higher PPI makes the pixels undetectable,even when display is observed very closely.Almost none of the display producing companies advertise the PPIs of their display products because it tells everything about that display!
