About Pixel Filter

Decrease screen brightness below minimum level, by turning off individual pixels. This way the screen contrast is kept at the same level.
Save battery on newer AMOLED screens - they will turn off black pixels completely. Especially good for 4K screens - disable all those pixels you don't need!
Includes screen pattern editor and light sensor support for turning filter off automatically.
Screen pattern is shifted each 5 minutes to prevent uneven pixel wearout.

Works really well. I have the OnePlus 3T, set it to 88%, and you really can see the difference. It really turned off the pixels.

U70%
by U####:

Only just started using it but for some reason after initial configuration the icon to open only toggles it on/off. I need to keep uninstall/reinstall to get back to config. I like the lux level switch. Would be great if there was timer condition also.

U70%
by U####:

Thank you for this great app! Just wanted you to know that on Android O (Nexus 6P), the filter doesn't appear over the status bar. The rest of the screen the filter is drawn no issue. Maybe an API change? Can you take a look? Thanks!

Q70%
by Q####:

How do i readjust the pixel percentage? Is this another one time setting thing? Coz if i tap the app it turns off the pixels based on the percentage i initially set it to but it won't let me in the app.

U70%
by U####:

App is working well but once we set the levels we can't adjust them again. We need to re-install the app to set new settings. Team please fix that issue

K70%
by K####:

Crashes quite often. At one point I got an alert saying it was using excessive cycles out something like that. Kinda defeats the point of saving battery if it's killing the cpu.

C70%
by C####:

Really good but widget keeps stopping. Works for 2 days, then not until I remove the widget and re-add it.

U70%
by U####:

I change my mind i have a install unlocker and the install unlocker will unlock the stuff and i will bee using dis app not with amoled display with only led :) the pixel filter is a screen overlay

U70%
by U####:

The App Is Just Amazing. But There Is Only One Problem, The filter Turns off After Sometimes Automatically.I Dont Know Why . I Know That I m not killing the app.But it happens automatically. I Am running miui 8 lolipop Redmi 2 Prime

U70%
by U####:

Really, Great! Actually Noticed A Little Battery Saving When It's Set Above 38%

U70%
by U####:

how to open this ai earlier set everything but now when i click on the apps the pixel turns off i click again and they turn back on how to open the app

Q70%

Stopped working in some recent update. Simply doesn't work

U70%
by U####:

No longer works on the Notification Shade on Oreo, but still a great app to prevent burn-in on OLED screens.

U70%
by U####:

Makes touchscreen freak out and ignore input - only way to stop is to hard reset. Big problem. (Android 7.0)

U70%
by U####:

Ay man! My back button and window button are permenalty turned off man. How the hell do I fix thus on my galaxy s6!!????????????????

X70%
by X####:

This app works brilliantly (no pun intended) I would like to see an app like this for white pixels. I don't want any pixels on my screen to be white at all.

F70%
by F####:

I haven't used this for very long but when the filter is on at 75% Every 25 minutes it only consumes around 60 mAh with my every day usage. Would highly recommend this and you can save even more power when you use this with Hibernation Manger.

U70%
by U####:

The app does what it says it does. Only minor issue: There is an overflow button that when pressed shows "about", but nothing happens when I press about. It would be nice to have some information in there. More specifically, knowing if it just applies a black overlay, or if it actually makes the system in a chip push less pixels to the screen due to decreased resolution.

T70%
by T####:

For a super amoled screen this app is awesome both in theory and execution, it does trip the 'overlay detection' when trying to do system stuff like Grant permissions. A quick disable before task and real afterwards gets round this. Shame there is not a permission or feature to get around this as it was confusing at first why I kept getting security prompts. A minor inconvenience though worth it for the actual battery savings. Tweak the settings for best results!

U70%
by U####:

Works well, but if it dimmed the whole screen (including the navigation buttons at the bottom of my Google Pixel) I'd give it 5 stars. No sense getting those buttons burnt in.

U70%
by U####:

It destroyed the backlight buttons (menu & back) on my phone.. I can't ever get them to turn back on no matter what. I should get paid to use this app

V70%
by V####:

Used your app on amoled screens. Works fine but upon using this on samsung the touch key lights went off n never came back on marshmallow based devices. The touch was not lost but back light never lit again. Even hard reset was unsuccessful. What's the solution for this now? Since marshmallow doesn't offer back light control on display setting in samsung now. Galaxy light app 2 from play store is also not useful now

D70%
by D####:

For some reason "38% pixels off" made Kaspersky Mobile Security screen unresponsive until i switched off PixelFilter. So weird. But this App truly helps you save battery on LG G5 quadHD screen. If the App makers add rounded-corner effect to my screen, i would consoder buying this App. Other ideas i have include: blue light filter for night time usage. Sort of a multi deal offer for a good price.

L70%
by L####:

Couldn't open the app after I closed it after the first run. Running in background notification which was annoying. Seemed to work but didn't want it if I couldn't open it

U70%
by U####:

This is an amazing application and I use it almost all of the time. However, I would like to manually adjust the OLED burn in time, this is the only thing that is keeping me from the 5th star. Otherwise I really like it!

U70%
by U####:

Loved to have the option to automatically turn it off in secure prompts like package access helper and SuperSu. But aside from that it's awesome, actually I just use it to prevent future pixel burn in.

when i installed this app my phone got hanging for five minutes and touch also not worked its like someone hacked am not sure may be my contacts have been hacked aftr I restart it but since the phone takes two times of restarting to come normal and i uninstalled it..... very worst app i saw first time in Google

R70%

I use this on my Moto Z Force. Makes my battery last forever! Only small drawback is it makes screenshots look weird. No trouble; hit the quick toggle to turn it off for a screenshot

Y70%
by Y####:

SUPER USEFUL!! I been using it since this morning and after ~7hrs of average use my battery is at 60% Love it! And I'm not even using all my battery-saving techniques

J70%
by J####:

I don't understand why was all configuration removed from the app. It doesn't make much sense to me to literally downgrade an app that was working just fine.

U70%
by U####:

Works great. Installed this app to replace Pixoff which began crashing and freezing after an update. The simplicity and effectiveness of this app makes it my preferred pixel filter app.

H70%
by H####:

The filter is nice but sometimes it make my phone go crazy. It goes into home, open other apps and stuff without touching the screen. Please fix this

U70%
by U####:

This is a really neat app. However, I had noticed a few issues (in non-root) that others may encounter: 1) You can only customise the settings when the app is installed. You need to uninstall and re-install it to change the settings. 2) With swipe-based apps such as swipe keyboards, you can only set so much of a dimming level before the app interferes with the swipe function e.g. ~25-30% is the maximum you can set for Touchpal but any more dimming will prevent you from swiping any more than three keys to the left or right before the disabled pixels stop a word from being fully typed. For those who don't use swipe-based apps, you'll probably find this app invaluable and you'll have fewer issues using it.

A70%
by A####:

A pretty tensing app when you accidentally turn off all the pixels.. Maybe you should not allow user to do that.. it did notify me about turning off all the pixels but when proceeded accidentally, the phone becomes unusable until it is rebooted..

W70%
by W####:

works great! can only tell it's there if you screenshot. wish there was an easier way to access the settings. would be nice to turn off more pixels for dark situations and back on later.

C70%
by C####:

Really useful! Not only for saving battery but for reducing screen brightness in dark rooms. Please add a schedule/timer ability to this though!

U70%
by U####:

And without actual dimming, it doesn't become unreadable unless the density starts to mess with text. I just wish there was a way to change the density on the fly like the screen dimming apps, like in a widget or something.

U70%
by U####:

Works in OnePlus X without any issues. I will going to test if it saves my battery consumption. My results: it saves battery, but some documentation says you can have better results if screen brightness is reduced. For me I think the only utility of this app is reduce the minimum default brightness of my device. It should reduce the battery consumption with adaptive brightness on. I test it and the screen was readable in day light outdoors.

M70%
by M####:

Great app I like it a lot better than pixoff it's easy to use and I'm noticing a good battery saving. Could we maybe have a comprehensive blue light filter built into it.with that added into it would be perfect. 5 stars anyway thank you devs

U70%
by U####:

Love it and use it religiously. No issues on Nexus 6, the QuickSettings addition for 7.x users is a highly welcome and convenient feature. With a crazy-high DPI on screens like my own, it's easy to do everything as normal on 88% dark, and the battery life saved is very noticeable. If you have an AMOLED screen and find that your screen is in the highest percentages of battery use in your phone's settings menu, you have every reason to get this app and no reason not to. I honestly wish Android's native brightness slider optionally worked this way for AMOLEDs.
