Logcat Extreme Pro for Android
I've been using the app for a few years and am pleased with the consistent enhancements. Most notably I'm pleased with the new option to select floating menus or a constant bottom bar menu.
I use this for capturing logs to send to devs. It does the job very well. Floating window feature is great!
Best from all other logcat app from google play store. Please keep always improve and update. I love logcat floating window. Amazing app
This one the best I ever used
Very useful but please add per app log in the floating window. Customizing colors of each type of info shown and background, highlighting etc also desired.
My go-to app when things go wrong.
new options in floating mode!
Log
My preference of logcat viewer. Nice to be able to isolate apps and other handy features.
1) No way to specify custom path for saved log files (doesn't even say where it stores those internally) Thus you always risk running out of memory on your device, which would truly cause serious problems. 2) No way to cyclically delete old log files (round robin delete). With that you could keep this app running in the background, to catch the odd crash and/or infrequent system failures. W/o that you will eventually fill up all your internal memory with log files. 3) Different color schemes for texts of different message classes. 4) Storage of log files in compressed form, so you can store larger files. 5) Autostart to collect logs at boot time 6) Separate action button/widget for free floating log window (takes to long to get to it through the menu)
Exactly what I needed; works great. Props to dev for continued updates, lots of paid utilities end up abandoned, but not this.
start logcat >> log.txt from terminal window, that will do the job, this app doesn't! EDIT: app won't log above 64k lines which was important for me to detect reason of freezing. log splitting is also buggy. won't restart after OS reboot... etc.
Hands down the best logcat tool I've used in all my years with Android.
Beat log at app, with the most stunning ui! Who says you can't have functionality and appearance.

Great app for debugging. I was working almost 5 months trying to find out why my device wasn't working right. I decided to give this a try and I had the problem fixed a few hours after using this app. Great app dev and thanks for a great app
Hi developer can u please exaplaine to me how to use this i tried my level best not recording any thing
I found this by accident... installed the "free" version and did not get the colors to stay. The purchased version claimed to "unlock" some "other" features so I bought it... thinking that the paid for version would keep the colors. I have looked all over for some directions on how to keep the colors. They only flash in some of my screen changes and then it goes all green. The colors, which I thought were separating out the different ops do NOT stay in the two Logcat Extremes that I have tried. I'm sure it is something simple and this appears to be a great app. So even with my unhappiness I will give it a 4. It will get a 5 IF you can tell me how to keep my colors. Phone is HTC ReZound -- OS is Unofficial CyanogenMod 11.0 Thanks, -Chuck Sorry... complained to soon. Colors are in the saved logs. You get 5.
Sorry man, bumped the refund button haha. Great application. Adds a much needed feature to AIDE (Theirs sucks!).
Thanks very much for your work.
in floating mode; if it's a pro advertised feature it should work in all mode (floating or normal). Also, search is inconsistent between normal and floating mode: when searching for something in normal mode doesn't find anything whereas searching for the same thing in floating mode some entries are found.
Have been using non-pro for a while and came to the conclusion that I want to pay for it :-D Floating window is awesome and I like the latest update!
Works well if you don't have logging disabled Dooh_!
Exactly what I needed; love that you listened to feedback and implemented a native UI!
Perfect tool for a dev.
Dead simple to use, looks great, and works on KitKat. Nuff said.
Has withstood the test of time. Could use a UI update.
My go-to app when things go wrong.
If you're looking for a logcat app that you can see anywhere and provide filtering and exporting, this is it. Floating window is excellent, and with root access can view entire log. Very useful as a developer
Unable to filter in float mode?

It still works!

Exactly what I needed, would give 5 stars for a cleaner holo-like interface.

I was beginning to give up on useful tools to help develop directly on my tablet! Because of health reasons, I cannot sit at my PC for long periods of time. I write using AIDE, then do my final compiles on my computer. This app has been the greatest help of any other tool I've used (not just log readers). Thanks SCDevs! I especially like the ability to call the app from my code. Logcat Extreme is nothing short of awesome! Keep it up. I look forward to new, innovative features. I do agree with other reviewers that "per-app" would be very useful in the floating viewer, though.
