South African Post Office for Android
The app keeps on timing out due to supposed connectivity issues. Another problem is that it asks whether to try again or not, and regardless of what you click, you will get stuck in a loop. I know that a lot of people put a lot of effort into this app, but debug before release please.
Can anyone help me out in tracking register post from India to South Africa. We are not able to get the status where the post is? But we have got the information that the post got reached South Africa from Mumbai but from there we dont have any status. Can anyone please help.
Like the epitome of human uselessness, the SA post office, this app is an empty shell of graphics but no functionality. Like the website, also touts "international tracking", and like the website also does not work. Absolute trash, the coders can try again in perhaps a millenium when the post office maybe works again.
The app worked fine with no technical issues. However it is does not make up for slow postal service (1 week from France to SA then 8 weeks to my local post office) and inaccurate information (the call centre did not always agree with the location given by the app). So in the end I am happy my parcel arrived in good condition, but disappointed this app did not prevent 20min+ phone calls to the call centre.
If my package had been held in Spain... I could have driven there and back by now which would have included some amazing travel experiences... Instead all I have is frustration and bad hold music! SAPO...you suck!
This app is ridiculous! It does not work at all. It keeps requesting to try again. Even if you select NO, it will still re-try. You have to force the app closed in order to go back. I have even tried tracking packages that were picked up, to test it. It never picks up anything. Absolute waste of time!
A simple thing such as copying from one app to this o e does not work. Implies I have to manually enter the tags. Not very user friendly. New version gives you option of entering a description but you can enter any description it does not change anything. Should it be go change tracking me? Nope. Doesn't allow me to enter data. I type a description but when I enter it simply disappears
App not reliable. Tracking information does not update. Does not allow me to enter more than 20 tracking numbers? App does not make up for bad and slow service from Post Office. Very disappointed.
App useless. Adds and deletes tracking numbers randomly automatically that are not mine. When contacting developers had two people responding - nothing done then they stopped contacting me.
I think it will be useful if they can also include the function of providing the local tracking number for international parcels. It doesn't help to know that the parcel has arrived and yet still have to phone in for the local number defeats the purpose
App still don't show local tracking numbers for international items. App works ok. However. It just helps in realizing how useless the South African post office really is. I bought 8 items on EBay on 14 June. 2 of these was only handled by Couriers. Both items was in my hands on 21 and 23 June. The other 6 that is handled by SAPO arrived in S.A. around 30 June to 2 July. Then ... just does not go any further.
Pathetic as expected. These clowns can't even get their own email address right on their website. Don't bother wasting your time thinking the app will be any better than holding on for 20 minutes.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the item I ordered from China arrived at your Johannesburg hub yesterday. Let's see now how long it takes to get to me, if ever...
When the search for your parcel number fails it asks whether it should try again upon which you can either say yes or no: Saying no just does the search again which means you're stuck on that message until it succeeds. Very poor developer workmanship.
Unable to track incoming international parcels after arrival at customs. Unable to delete parcels. I hope you did not pay a developer for this pure rubbish app
Absolute junk, every time I open the app my tracking numbers have either disappeared or there is a whole list of random tracking numbers with other peoples information. Does this mean that my information is visible to all other app users as well? I also do not receive notifications when there is movement on my parcels. Worst of all most of the time the tracking info is incorrect, my parcel is with me, in my hand but the app will say it's in JHB?? What the hell kind of "service delivery" is this?!
App takes forever to update the tracking details. Could have had a label option to label what is coming with each tracking number. Overall disappointing user interface.
Cool App. Informed me when the parcel arrived in SA. Could request from call centre SA tracking number. SA tracking number don't update. Unfortunately don't help with poor service delivery. Took longer to GET TO ME than from country of origin.
I don't see the point of this pathetic app as it gives you random tracking numbers everytime you run it. I entered all my tracking numbers and when I opened the app again it was ALL GONE!!! And only random tracking numbers that I did not enter...avoid this app and rather use Track Checker app.
This app cannot find my packages. Ot keeps saying network error when there is nothing wrong with my network . And when I say no to searching again, i searches any way. App still a bit buggy
Must have feature that's still not in the app, would be fantastic if it displays both the local and international tracking numbers for a parcel. This would surely prevent unnecessary visits to the PO when you receive a slip for a parcel that you have already collected.

The app is a great way to keep track of your package once it entered the country. SAPO itself is extremely slow, but the application works as it should.
Useless. No barcode with ordinary parcels & no facility to enter tracking number manually.
Actually a very handy application, sure it has some issues but it works alright. As a suggestion, when tracking an international parcel you get assigned a local tracking number. perhaps in the summary display that new local tracking number to the user.
It kind of works. But what is the point, if it doesn't let you know when an item is detained by customs, you only find that out if you email or phone them :MAD:

Well, well, well. I don't like using the post office because I don't have much faith in them. But sometimes what can you do? I tried tracking a HK tracking number, but with no luck. I left the tracking number in the app and today I actually see the package is in JHB. Okay, it was (apparently) in transit for 10 days from HK to JHB - but there's light at the end of the tunnel. UPDATE: Went from 5 stars to 2 since post office service is seemingly never going to improve and the poor service dismisses the usability or attempted convenience of this app. So far it's been "in transit" from JHB to CPT for 2 weeks (14 days). Do they have no shame?
The South African Norm. What else can you expect from a state owned enterprise? That it actually works? Please don't bother your time downloading this rubbish. Big surprise it doesn't work.
It sucks even the post office itself sucks I HV been waiting for my parcel that's has come from overseas. I can't track it coz its stuck in jhb I was suppose to recieve it 2weeks ago. Called customer care held DA line for 2hrs holding.... S.A.Post office sucks. Even this app
Stupid app does not update it will always say no records. You don't even answer calls on your call centre number - useless I'd rather stick with Aramex
I can't track my registered item on the service centre. I can't track it through their sms. I can't track it from this app I downloaded and have now uninstalled it. Times out like previous comments. Post Office is a total waste of time
A dumb useless app, so is their call centre and their website, even from a computer. IT MIRRORS THEIR USELESS UNTRUSTWORTHY SERVICE. My package from the US is lost in a post office blackhole, it's supposed to have been here in January. Also a second package is also non existent, also from the US. As im writing here, the phone is ringing at the call centre for the past 15 mins. Im hanging up.
Worst App ever does not work, just keeps asking the same question and you can not get out.
Please allow pasting text in the input feild, typing a 13 character tracking number isn't fun.
Sort of does what's required. Does not seem to update in real time or pickup international parcels in transit....
The app has been spot on with notifications and i was able to collect all my parcels within minutes of them being delivered at the post office. Solid work okes
Just put in your overseas tracking numbers and when your goods arrive in the country it alerts you and keeps alerting you every step of the way. I'm surprised how well it works.... Thought it would suck.

One of the worst post offices on the planet. DO NOT use sapo!! Send ur post via ship rather. Ur item will actually arrive quicker. Customer service is pathetic. DO NOT SHIP WITH THIS USELESS BUNCH!!!! And their motto is "we deliver whatever it takes" Yes the poor donkeys they load with mail! Diabolical. Pathetic. Useless and incompetent! And im being as kind as i can be!! I think Zimbabwe's postal service is better!
