Edit : i am not able to make bar completely transparent there is some light patch on statusbar even if i slide the transparency elider to the extreme end but hide after sometime checkbox works fine! EDIT 2: im extremely sorry for the bad review and thanks dev for a quick reply... I was sliding the transparency bar to right side... Actually i think if we increase the transparency (sliding bar to extreme right) should be fully transparent not vica versa like it is in ur app... Its just my opinion! Thanks
Best app ever. Edit: In Marshmallow brightness no longer gets overrided by battery saver, which is very awesome because now I can see the screen when it's sunny. However this app is a culprit in the "overlay" bug, so l have to force close it every time I want to grant permissions to other apps. New version: Randomly crashes at startup, so I have to reinstall. Also it doesn't automatically start after reboot.
After using my previous phone for a couple years, a Nexus 5, always with custom roms, I became accustomed to being able to change the brightness by sliding my finger across the taskbar. I have a new phone, LG G5, and I don't want to root it yet because I'm still paying for it and the warranty hasn't expired yet. But I can do the same exact thing with this app. It has better features also like showing a color on the top with indication to brightness level. I love that I can use it on the lock screen as well.
So with the note 7, Samsung changed it, so you have to swipe down the notification drawer twice to get to the brightness slider. And no matter how good, I will just never be a fan of auto brightness. This change drove me nuts, untill I found this. I set all my transparency settings to 100%. Couldnt be happier. This reminds me of an old jailbreak tweak I used to have. Great work!
I keep having to un-install it and having to install it aging after disabling the overlay settings that interfere with with every app you download.
Cool tip, if you have a rooted phone and install link2sd, you can convert the app into a system app, making the bar less likely to disappear. If you are trying this, please use caution. Please add blue light filter function.
It's a wonderful tool, totally reliable. Thanks a lot. However, couldn't it not wake up the device when the screen is off? Wakelock is reporting it as a main sleep stopper.
I am using this app . It's mind blowing to control brightness. Everyone should use this.
All the features I want and none that I don't! Very useful, especially for phones without brightness sliders like my HTC M9.
Nexus 6p
Alladin!
Does just what I want!
SI loved it really well.
Best app for brightness control
Wish to find equivalent for the watch
favorite app, works very well!!
Useful app
Best
I have a samsung galaxy tab pro 12.2 wifi version and it worked just fine before the last update. Now it doesn't obey commands very often
Will work normal for a while, usually ok in portrait, but landscape it is unresponsive.
works
I probably fret too much about battery life, but with my old Galaxy y, it made a difference to keep the screen at the lowest setting and make it bright when I needed it. This Moto g may not need my micromanagement, but now I'm used to being in control. This app makes it easy, puts a bar at the top that I can set translucently, size and color, and I don't have to go into settings to change brightness.
This is the kind of app I was looking for. This app keeps running even when I play videos on YouTube. Other screen dimmer apps failed as soon as I played videos on youtube. I usually watch videos at night and was looking for something which could let me watch videos without straining my eyes. Thanks
Marshmallow battery saver overides app so no use. Let me know when you can have battery saver on but control screen brightness with this app up to the max of what the phone can do.
Even though prefs are set to enable slider and enable on boot up, it disappears every time the screen goes to sleep. Need it to be there all the time unless otherwise specified. Is something in lollipop shutting it down?
It's does a really great job.. Adjusting the screen brightness during direct sunlight while screen is pattern locked was a nightmare, now it is so easy, thank you very much
I cannot believe this is the only brightness control of its type. This is the only one that has a real time adjustable meter on screen at all times.
The error makes other apps not work, why do you need usage data enabled
it will be better if we can choose a colour filter in the negative region. I try a blue filter (red overlay) for night reading and it is very much softer on eyes than just dimmer the screen.
Great app! Love that u can customize where the control is. No more switching out of app to adjust brightness settings! Now adjust brightness anytime from negative to 100%!
It s possible to control brightness without unlocking the phone! Useful when you need to use your phone when you are outside on the street in a sunshine day and your mobile doesn't have auto brightness
Best ever. Pple hu dnt have auto brightness on their phone install this. U can adjust brightness just slide from lock screen even in outdoor easy to control.
Needs a configurable time for reaction delay after click down (1 sec is too long), and needs to be able to temporarily disabled (by a gesture like long click) to prevent screen overlay detected problems while enabling permissions for other apps
But I don't like how the slider shows up every time I turn on the screen. Give an option to hide it.
The app would be great, but it is necessary to restart the app every time I restart the tablet, which is most annoying.
It's the best brightness app I can find. Negative Brightness is an awesome feature
This should be stock on all android devices... it just makes sense and it is the easiest and quickest way to adjust brightness from ANY screen!!!
Crashes on opening now.. Thanks. Loved it and now it won't work
Thank you so much!! This app is great for older devices because changing the brightness could be so annoying at times!! This is just what I was looking for!! :)

Much faster than any other control type, and rarely gets in the way. The filter darkens more than the phone can alone. it's useful for unlocking your phone when stepping into the light. However, it's hard to find it in landscape mode. The optional delay reduces accidental changes, but it feels too long. A "slide only" option with controls for minimum slide length would work much better.
