About ClockSync

☆ ROOT is REQUIRED for automatic synchronization ☆

ClockSync synchronizes device system clock with atomic time from Internet via NTP (Network Time Protocol).
Useful if provider doesn't support NITZ, sends incorrect time or if your device/ROM has heavy clock drift.

There are 2 modes: automatic for root users and assisted manual mode for users without root (rootless mode).

Rootless mode features:
- automatic atomic time retrieval with configurable interval
- notification when offset exceeds user set threshold
- assisted manual synchronization with the hint what time/date to set
- precision between 1 and 30 seconds (because Android doesn't allow to set seconds)
- 1 second precision if your device resets seconds on Set (most Samsung and some HTC devices)
- Greenwich Time Signal assisted sync if device resets seconds

Root mode features:
- automatic sync with configurable interval
- accuracy is ~1-20ms depending on your connection and NTP server
- statistics (average drift per day, total time corrected)

Root is required because of Android security restrictions (user apps cannot set time).

Other features:
- customizable NTP/SNTP server and timeout
- displays current date or time since last sync
- NTP server details dialog
- 3 color schemes (dark, light, default)
- 12-hour or 24-hour clock format
- time zone detection and adjustment based on geo location
- system time zone override with custom offset
- time zone management based on latest Olson tz database (zoneinfo)
- optional haptic feedback and sync notification
- clean and easy to use interface (tap screen values or use menu)

Don't have root? See http://bit.ly/phoneroot for the detailed instructions.

Don't want or can't root your device? You can still use ClockSync as your precise time source to adjust your watch or other clocks, or to verify how accurate your cell time is, or set time manually in rootless mode.

Move to SD is disabled because automatic synchronization (timers) will not work when app is moved, also app size is very small and since not all files are moved to SD in any case, it would not save you more than 50Kb.

If you get wrong time after synchronization, your phone time zone data is out of date, use http://bit.ly/tzupdate to fix it.

- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: used only for "Sync on boot" option
- VIBRATE: optional haptic feedback on tap and sync
- INTERNET: to get time from NTP servers, to get time zone from web services
- WAKE_LOCK: to perform background synchronization without being killed in the middle by the OS
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: to sync only when network is available
- ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION: to get best location for time zone from location feature when GPS is on
- ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: if GPS is off, network location is used
- SET_TIME_ZONE: to automatically set time zone depending on location or for manual override
- SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW: new permission since 1.1.5, used for transparent overlay in rootless mode to show countdown updated every second
- ACCESS_SUPERUSER: for compatibility with SuperSU and Superuser applications, see http://bit.ly/su-permission

Even though my phone and network keep perfect time, I found this app interesting. In the past I used to use radio time signals to measure astronomical observations. It is good to know that these features are now available in the palm if your hand!

Q70%
by Q####:

Inexplicably, my Samsung Note 8 can't set its clock automatically either from GPS or from a time server. This app gives a simple way to correct the clock by occasional manual intervention, and even notifies me when a correction is needed.

Q70%
by Q####:

App needs root permissions to automaticly sync. Manual worked until just recently, now ClockSynch crashes when I tap sync. I need this program to sync my clock so I can use a time dependant one time passcode generator and now the app wont sync. It's useless to me and I have no choicd but to disable thr added oath security on my p.c. Not happy.

This program does EXACTLY what it says, clearly and concisely. A very welcome change from the average convoluted app with ads and features that didn't need to be there. Thank you, developer!

by B####:

Great app for keeping time accurate. Would give it (5) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ if the app let you select the clock's font and size. Used since 2010 on HTC EVO 4G WiMAX (Gingerbread) through many phones to Galaxy S6 (Nougat). The app was last updated March 2016. Too bad there's no donate or pro option. I'd pay $1.00. With 1 million downloads the programmer could be a millionaire...

Set my clock perfectly. Had an initial bad experience and wrote a bad review. Sorry. Got a message that the developer replied to review within seconds. As suggested by developer problem was my ISP and I bypassed them with my vpn. Developer nailed issue and I was able to get my clock synced perfectly. Kudos and many thanks!

can't get rid of rootless mode assistant overlay on my sgs7@native android launcher. must reinstall app to remove it.

After a few install uninstall cycles this app started to look and feel like the info on the GOOGLE PLAY STORE description.Any way this app works for all the people like me with a wifi tablets. Seems like a nightmare trying to keep the internal clock on the right time.At least it's free. Thank God.

N70%
by N####:

Excellent. The only problem is that it frequently can't connect to the time server. After a minute or so it does, so nothing wrong with my settings I presume. Otherwise it's a gem!

Q70%
by Q####:

I am using this on a Z28Pro Android Tv box. The application runs in landscape mode and the settings are not enabled at all. There is no way to set things up. All I can do is manually syncing the clock. I would rate as 5 stars if I could set automatic time sync in the background. UPDATE: Yes, the remote control has a settings button. However, when I press that button, nothing happens. The settings window is not opening. That is the problem. If you could add a shortcut for going into settings, my problems would be solved. I would also like to help further by providing necessary evidence, if you are willing to solve the problem.

Excellent app for getting real time. I don't need to use it for syncing as my service provider time is sufficiently accurate. I find it useful for checking system time or setting other clocks. Thanks

Q70%

Used to work great but stopped working after upgrading to Naugat. Now synchronising justs redirects you to the device's settings > date & time page and does nothing. Please fix.

Q70%

I've mostly using my phone to take photos, so time accuracy is important to me, and this app is does like what it say, my Android is rootless, so using Rootless mode is a challenging thing (I've tried to sync as accurate as +0.003 seconds!), I also use this app to sync every wall clock in my home even my watch... (and also public clock if I can ????) small app but perfectly does it's job... Highly recommended

The best atomic clock time nerd app out there, use it to set all of my watches and clocks. Especially like the keep screen on option. Would love to see a paid version with a JJY emulator for JDM atomic watches.

Great at synchronizing clock. Cell phone tower is not always correct, but this app handles the problem

My android version had a time/date bug, could not solve it on my own. This was the perfect app to bail me out. Excellent work.

Thank you so much for this exceptionally good app. A 1x1 widget shortcut would be nice, when clicked updates time without opening app interface.

It's extremally covenient and useful whether you have root or not!

Installed on Android TV Box to correct the time after box is powered up. MXQ box has huge time drift when in standby. Excellent app.

Sorry, but more error than my device had before. Will install after the ROOT. Спасибо товарищ.

Easy to use. I have a rootless phone, but I happily sync it and my other clocks / watches manually.

X70%
by X####:

So many features. Great for watch enthusiasts. Particularly quartz, so you can determine your best watch as a reference. Not a good app for the OCD. You will be setting your clocks and watches all the time, because you will know your quartz clock on the wall is off by 39 seconds in 3 months. Seriously, great app with a simple display, with a lot of really precise settings. More than the average Joe will ever use, or understand.

This is the best time sync app I have found. Root users can automatically synchronise the time, while non root users can manually sync. There are no annoying Adds and the app is totally free. Only requires Location for app permissions. With a nice clean and easy to use interface there is no need to look for any other time sync app. The Author of this app is a real star.

My clock was running slow on my Samsung Note 4; probably due to me thinking too much for my phone friend to compute. (Psychological Time vs. Clock Time) My phone was already jailbroken, so it synchronized my clock within a few thumb taps. NOW I don't have to think so much to be on time! Thanks ClockSync!

L70%
by L####:

The app will poll the NTP Server once, to get the offset. Then, when you have set the time manually, it will poll the NTP Server again, to get the new offset. This second polling can be deemed excessive, and rejected by the server. Yet, assuming that we tapped at the correct instant to set the new time, we will still have set our clocks correctly.

D70%
by D####:

For several months, my Samsung phone had a mind of its own and would randomly change the time (zones) so my clock would be behind by as much as five hours. The problem made the accuracy of the clock and any alarms I set, completely useless. This app fixed the problem quickly.

Q70%
by Q####:

Small, light, and just does what it says. Syncs the clock. If you're wondering about the Root requirement, it's an Android thing and no fault of the dev.

X70%
by X####:

This is a great app especially with auto sync on rooted phone. Here are two requests to make it even better: 1) The ability to add more than one time server; 2) An option for offset from sync(X secs or mins slow or fast than remote server time) Thank you!

Needed only 1 permission! I give this 10 out of 5 stars! Update: I got a new phone, installed this app, and it works just as flawlessly as on my old one. I have this on all my android devices.

I've got a Hudl2, now no longer made, one of the big issues apparently being clocks losing time. I installed this App and synched, fine, my tablet clock caught up with the App. That was yesterday evening. This morning it was 3 hours slow again. I've synched again, but have little faith now in it keeping my tablet on time. Update, it's lost an hour since synching, 4 hours ago :-(

My MXQ Box was not syncing the time correctly. This app corrected that problem. Thank you so much.....

Good app even without root, makes setting the time manually in sync with the atomic clock pretty easy thanks to the beeps. I got it about within 45ms. I normally set my watches the same way with the NIST website.

S70%

《v1.2.3》 Rooted phones will benefit from the automated sync. Non rooted phones, however, will be assisted via beeps to sync the time with human input. 《v1.2.6》 Good to see it's still being updated.

This app is confusing to use. Make sure to read the documentation to understand how it works otherwise you will just be irritated.

J70%
by J####:

Does what it's supposed to. If you're a time nut, like me, and cannot accept a two- second error or your provider doesn't set the system time this is MUST-Have program

R70%
by R####:

Works perfectly on rooted devices. Rootless mode is also very good and for a free app no complaints at all. Brilliant work and a highly recommended app.

J70%
by J####:

Previously gave this 5 stars but since an update keeps telling me date and time is wrong, looking in settings there is nothing wrong. Uninstalled.

X70%
by X####:

In 'rootless' mode I'm easily able to sync to well under 1 second, and perhaps I can even improve that if I can train myself to react faster.

We are your future selves! It is critical for our AI servers to be synchronized with your continuum: what you refer to as (n+nE2 dim) Calabi-Yau spaces. As such, precise temporal relationships are critical to correcting your quantum superposition potentialities in order for "your" braneworld to continue to exist. Thus, we use ClockSync to "set the clock" in our tachyon fountain master chronobot. When you master graviton projection delimiting, we'd love to hear from you.
