App Search Plus

Update: Upgraded to Android M on EUI 5.8.917S and lost the ability to launch App Search + by long pressing the home button. My device is Le 1s. Original Review: App search works like a breeze. This can be made to launch on long press of home button. App window launches over existing app with the keyboard open by default. Search is quick. If you decide to quit, just press back button and search window will disappear - you can continue to work on your old app.

I rate 8/8 while I enjoy hooking on some bait to my fishin line. But my friend, dear developer, there is a couple flaws in this majestic application. The ability to apply icon packs to this search engine, a grid option to show results in and having most used applications shown on top of the search without searching for quick access. Apart from that top notch effort mate, quality application.

Crashes in Android 8.0.0. Features for further improvement could include easier navigation (as app results are presented towards the top of the screen, making launching apps challenging, especially on larger phones that are becoming more common). Another useful feature that could expand on the app's function would be a widget to provide further functions (e.g. address the navigation issues).

(original) Simple. Love it. Tap, search, launch. Nothing unnecessary (update 05-11-17) installed on Galaxy s8. Caused phone to restart repeatedly. Did control test by performing factory reset and reinstalling apps over a few days. Problem returned upon installing app search. Uninstalled and problem stopped. Still 4 star rating due since (other than noted) the app still functioned as normal.

Bringing the rating down from five stars to one star. Fix the compatibility issues with Android O. It's been close to a month and still the bugs. Not cool Raymond!

Uninstalled apps are still in search result useless and can't find the lately installed apps.

The app search is good . But it doesn't list newly installed apps. For it to list newly installed apps it needs to be reinstalled... Very bad.. Some icon should have been provided to refresh the apps list when an installation is made..

Nice and simple app. Crashes when searching on "g" in Galaxy S7 running Android 7.0. Please fix and become a 5 star app.

Grrrrrrrreat, loved it, it saves a lot of precious time of my life by letting me find the app I want in a second. It would be much better if it could launch by any gesture like apples spotlight search, I hope next update will include that feature, although it's already a great app.

Very nice application. Does what is should do. Only it could be more efficient and less resource consuming, the better it will become. Please try to give a shortcut to launch the application

Using Google Pixel, missing iPhone spotlight search. Tried this. Keeps crashing when I type more than two letters. Promising, but giving two stars because of the crashes.

Very simple ans practical app. No permissions asked wow.. Just loved it and very very good app my homescreen is now empty only app search icon is there... gave 5 stars

Significantly better than the google search. Always returns correct result, and is not obtrusive. Also doesn't require additional permissions. A widget would be nice, but it takes up less space on my homepage this way.

Awesome app. Searches all apps very efficiently. All it takes is one click. In a single click, you are able to search all the installed apps. Very few steps are needed to search apps on the phone. Excellent.. I rate this 5 stars....

How about a dark theme too? Or maybe a blurry background? Would be beautiful.

There is a bug in this app. It won't search apps that are installed after its own installation.

If you search an application which is installed after "App Search Plus", it's unable to find that.

Newly installed apps are not showing in search results... though fast but disappointed.

Unbelievable that this is necessary in 2016. Buy a top of the range samsung tablet and i cant even search installed apps. What is this 1996? But this is a great app. Wouldnt mind a widget

I have over 200 apps and this app helps me to search and launch app faster without having to scroll in the congested launcher app screen. Thanks. ;)

Fantastic app; simultaneously clean, simple, and functional. HOWEVER, one thing is missing which would push this app over the edge: an option to auto-launch the search result if there is only one! Please add this and I can die happy.

I wanted something that would let me search for an app, no frills. No searching through contacts too, no trying to learn my usage patterns, no favourite apps. Just launch it (with a gesture on Nova) and type to search. Love it.

I always love keyboard-based launchers. There's one thing that bothers me, though - it doesn't seem to update the list of apps automatically. I couldn't search for newly installed apps; they would only appear after I cleared the cache. ***UPDATE: Thanks for your tip, it works!

I have a penchant of having a clean homescreen (think one screen with 4 most used apps) and always had trouble indulging my OCD. It grew very apparent to me that there are indeed more than 4 useful apps out there so living with only 4 readily available apps on the homescreen is unwise! LOL! That is, until I found this app. I would be glad if I can even buy the developer a cup of coffee, or a bottle of beer, his choice really, if there is only a way...donation maybe. Awesome job!

On the Note 4 with Marshmallow go to Settings, Default applications, Device assistance app, select App Search Plus in stead of Google app. That way you can have this great app pop up by long pressing the physical home button (assuming that like me you don't use Google Now much)

Very useful app. However Marshmallow does not have swipe up function anymore, so if you want to keep using App Search you might want to go to Settings -> Applications -> Default Applications -> Device assistance app and set it to App Search+ instead of Google Now. I think this should be an option provided by the app after installation.

I searched for something like nova launcher's swipe search for TouchWiz and I found this. It would be better if you give it a nice premium material touch it looks kinda like cheap. And if it was just like a option like swipe up to get a small search bar not a window covering the screen. But anyways I liked it

Fast and quickly finds the app. Set it as you home swipe up and you are good to go. Do something that it doesnot listed in resent apps.

Impressive for its simplicity and handling. Really ergonomic, if I may. Very handy. Please add a dark theme. Add this as a shortcut on the status bar or the sides of the phones with something like all in one gestures and you can access it from anywhere. It's like switching tabs. 4.9*

Productivity at its best. Only one request : could you add contacts search (like iOS swipe down) with the app search? Then it will be the champion!!
