Gym Buddy - Workout Log for Android
My only complaint is that I would rather have check boxes or bubbles as a means to document set progress, instead of using one button to generate a list of sets. Props to Raziel for all the replies and tips
I like the app. It's is a worthwhile purchase. I use it all the time. However some of my comments on sets after time are now blank, as if they have been erased somehow. Also I have purchased unlimited sets but it says I haven't now today for some reason.
I think the app is very good, however the body fat prediction is so vague it's no real indication of your body fat at all! There should be a specific page where you can add your pb's achieved rather than a predicted pb automatically uploaded depending on your 6-10 rep range
This app allows you to setup several routines which you can use at the gym. No searching for past work outs to copy across, just select the routine you want to do and hit the run button
It's a good app, a few things I would change. I'd like to be able to put notes in the workouts, and I'd like to be able to go back and add a workout from the day before incase I forget. Just lil stuff.
It is extremely difficult to match sync phones. Have to upload then download constantly and backups aren't reflecting all that I have done daily. Overall I am disappointed that such bright people could make a nice app but fail to make the improvements that could take it over the top, make it desirable across the globe, and ultimately make them rich, and more importantly, proud of their work. I'm looking for another app.
A lot of things tapped won't select, it thinks you're swiping it to the left. Tap directly on 'set' to change
Needs to allow you to put in stats from the day before.. I did a work out and forgot to log it and the app only allows you to paste in the day your currently on
Great app to keep track of your workouts. One thing I'd love is if you can export your workouts in pdf or word, would be nice to print them out.
Easy to follow your workouts! I wish I could just link it with Google Play Music, but easy enough to adjust the music. Still learning it, but so far so good!
I really like this app but it needs an edit button for the days before. I forgot to add a workout and now I can't fix it.
It is the best I've ever used;the simplicity of it and the fact that I can even add my own workout description ,fantastic.
Simple but thorough, easy to set up, customize, use. Doesn't accidentally record sets/reps the way Jeff it did for me, nor force you to be online. Nice! Only the bodyfat calculator needs real improvement.
Done with paper logs! Gym Buddy comes pre-loaded with exercises grouped into workouts, any and all of which can be modified, removed or added to. I love that I can set the number of sets for any given exercise, and GB remembers the weight I started with last time around. It's easy to add an exercise or reorder exercises within a workout. Regardless of the order in a workout, GB reports the details in the order in which they occurred. It defaults to the current date, so I don't need to enter that. I choose the workout I'm doing, reorder the exercises within the workout if a piece of equipment is taken, easily change the weight and reps and tap the screen to record a set, and then tap the arrow to the next exercise within the workout. GB backs up to and restores from Google Drive, so I can keep my tablet and phone in sync and use whichever device I have handy at the gym. There's a built-in timer for use between sets, if desired. The best part is that GB never gets in my way. Recording is easy and fast; much better than with the paper log, or with other apps I've tried. Love it!
turns off music when you first open app but still great. Especially for free can't complain.
I dont see a way to delete exercises or edit names. One or two are spelled wrong and it kills me.
Great app and easy way to log daily workouts. I do wish there was a way to write on the home page of the calendar instead of having to open each individual day to see what you done for that day.
Love this app - it was exactly what I was looking for. Simple and customizable - I found most my workout exercises already listed, but was glad to find that I could also add my own. Thanks
Simple to change or add exercises or categories plus able to edit if you make mistake with wts. or reps
So far, so good. It's not a fancy app, but it is quick to load, easy to use and easy to customize. 5 stars
Clean interface, ability to add in additional exercises. No ads. 5 stars!
It would be helpful if it explained what each exercise is as I'm new to gyms and don't know what they are so have to spend time searching each one
Can be improved by adding photos to the exercises. As example English isn't my first language and I have to google some of the movements to see how they look like.
Awesome app for creating custom workouts. Also allows you to add your own exercises to the database. Works great to log reps/weight and track progression.
App is simple to use. No complicated graphics or anything which is nice less distractions..
I like this app simple to add my exercises. So much drama with most apps out there.
This is the best no nonsense gym app. Simple and effective. Is you will be able to import your templates for the training it will be perfect
I like the fact that you can add your set of exercises to the existing standard list. Easy to use. Convenient record keeping.
Spotify & Music player doesn't work
Simple to use. Tracks work outs with out all the extra bs.
The only thing that would be nice is being able to write the number of sets per rep
Just needs to add some more excersies. And perhaps a way to add supersets or drops sets to be seen clearer
Just what I needed, lets you enter your own exercises. Good to keep track of progress.
Simple, easy to use. Fully customisable. Just what I needed to log my progress and routine. Thanks!
Please add a column for number of sets. There's a column for weight and reps but nothing for sets.
This application is a great one and thanks to Jonah from the customer service for prompt action and reply to the queries
Really easy to use and store workouts. Would be nice to get a strava link or garmin
Easy quick way to keep track of work out. I love seeing my workout filled on the calendar
Works perfect for tracking what I need it to track. Plus it's editable and I can add my own exercises.

The app could be a little nicer looking, and smaller font on exercise names would help during a workout so you could read the whole name instead of "Standing Dumbell..." But overall this is a very good app. I'm still using it. Yes you can click on the name to see the full name of the workout, but it is a mild annoyance. I have worked around it by renaming most of my exercises and abbreviating words like Dumbell, Barbell, Standing, Seated, etc.
