TV Antenna Helper FREE for Android
Worked perfectly. Storms in the area a few weeks ago knocked my antenna out of alignment. This aided me tremendously, as I was not wanting to go up and down my ladder multiple times. Receive stations better now than before.
HTC Sense 6 and Android 4.4.2 looks helpful but gave incorrect information "the fcc website shows there are no broadcast channels" I have 58. The map wouldn't load and either would the direction pointer.
This app hasn't been updated in awhile,in the Memphis market WPTY changed to WATN also WTWV moved to Real channel 23 not 14,please update your data base, and the compass is a little jumpy I have to use another compass app to point my antenna, other than that this app really helps you out!
This app found all my local broadcast towers and helped me orient my antenna. My only gripe is that the font used to label the towers in the map overlay mode is super tiny. Still a 5 star app but an option to change the font in map mode would be greatly appreciated.
This app gives you exactly what you need to see which way to point the antenna that you are going to use for your TV. (Air antenna) ...and out even gives you an idea of what type of antenna to use. I like it alot. It also gives you not 1 but 4 different ways to look at how the signal is coming to you. And where it is coming from.
It claims Oklahoma City, OK has no TV stations. Apparently neither does Kansas City or Dallas or Miami or ... You get the picture. Oh, wait! You don't get the picture if you use this garbage app.
Sorry dude but damn. You can't read the station names on the map because they're microscopic even when zoomed in fully. Constant errors downloading stations, shows my address but says it can't determine my location? Really? I needed this to aim my antenna in the proper direction, but if I can't read the names what use is it. Please fix as I see great potential, the compass map is the same way. Gray globe with tiny words around it. At least I assume they are words.
Keeps telling me it can't find my GPS, which works fine on everything else, and won't take my location by zipcode or city/state. You have to choose bc it doesn't tell you. Otherwise it looks like it'd be a great app. Highly disappointed. :( uninstalling.
The Application Reccommends Antennas That Are Either Not Available Anymore And Are Expensive!! The Application Uses The Amazon Website And So Do I!! I Bought An Antenna From Amazon And Was Apparently Made By Them Too!! The Antenna I Bought Looks Like It Couldn't Swat A Fly As Appears To Nothing More Than A Thin Piece of Paper!! But it actually Has A 50 Mile Range!! And it will Run Circles Round Those Recommended!!
At the time of posting bad review, I e-mailed the publisher who replied with several suggestions including turning the phone off and on. After that, app works just as advertised or better. Thanks! Does not work. Cannot find location with GPS although other apps work fine. Cannot manually enter location. Too bad. Would be a nice app for an rv'er. Samsung Galaxy S3
Have been trying to download station and signal information but no matter if connected thru cell or wifi application will not download it. All it is to me is a space waster.
I could definitly used this when I installed a antenna as a back up with my cable TV I am going have a AB switch. A GREAT TOOL. One problem is that the application keeps freezing up but otherwise I do like it hope it gets updated....
I installed on my Droid Turbo and it found my location fine, but it says that there are no TV stations in my location which I know is totally wrong since the tower for the local pbs station is only five miles away. Disappointed.
It used to be very helpful. Now it continually has errors downloading signals, can't locate by GPS, doesn't work if you enter location manually. An update with bug fixes would bring up my rating tremendously
We live in a remote area of Oregon, and had been trying to get TV reception from an antenna. I wish we had downloaded this before we bought all of the equipment. I used this app, and sadly, sure enough, we only showed 3 weak signals. Great app. Works very well.
On my Android there is no way to "zoom in" enough to be able to READ the station and channel information for each antenna, for the map or the compass. My goal was to be able to point my HD antenna toward the tower; this app doesn't get that done.
Brilliant. Best of its kind. Accurate and highly detailed, beyond similar apps. Invaluable, helped a ton. Cons: Aging interface, no updates in years (would happily buy if updated).
wasn't performing as I had hoped. This app showed me that I was picking up the weakest channels. The strongest channels were the other direction, behind a chimney and trees. Relocated the antenna and all is well. Only thing I don't like is the red channels are hard to read on the compass view, and only show network, not channel number
This app made it easy for me to see that the only station I had even a hope of getting was the Boston WMUR ... and that only very weakly. In fact this simply confirmed what I'd been learning from other sources; but it was one more good piece of information. Thank you to the creator.
This used to be my go to app for my TV antenna. I can not even get it to find the stations or the directions of the station towers. I get a notification that there is an error message. This has become useless. Galaxy Note 3.
Will not find gps signal.. uninstalled and installed to try to fix but no success
You need to add the low power stations as well there three times as many and most all do 2 to 8 channels. Allot of great programming that is being missed.
This app would be nice if the compass that shows the networks, actually did not spin, while the phone was still. North was also not north. I faced north as I used the app. It preferred South East as the way I was facing, with twisting. It also showed stations no longer in existance, even shut off. Not sure what service they use for CURRENT DT stations. Could be useful for us engineers. But as is, its junk!
Whats the deal with this app can not find and tv signal from gps location. When a couple weeks ago had 12 station located. Hasnt worked since update. Please fix!
It Sez I will get 19 channels with a 100 mile Antena.. But i get 44 clear as day channels with 2 coat hangers that aren't aimed at anything.. I recommend the coat hangers
Good app. Quick load. Compass feature is great. Need to increase font size on the station.its tiny makes recognizing impossible
I loaded it on my tablet and it works fine. Great for aiming the antenna in the RV. Edit it now will not work on my tablet. Too bad it could be very handy.
I recieve over 50 hdtv stations.this app says no stations via FCC. Tried GPS and manual inputs. Uninstalled :(
Great app. finally got the TV signal I wanted. Found translator tower too. I had to use handheld compass to fine tune, but app let me know where to point and stations available. It is better than guessing and slowly spinning antenna.
I was looking for channel strength, when I came across this app. Downloaded quick, worked quickly, and was free! Great job. Signal Compass was easy to use and very accurate.
It appears the app only "finds" the towers that have "subscribed". It purports to look at the FCC database of stations. But it does not find all of the stations in your area and does find some that would be impossible to receive.
App works well however some adds would really improve the usability of the app. 1) Radar screen text is small on an 8" tablet, not usable on phone (S4). 2) As someone living on the border with Canada, I'd like the option to include Canadian stations. I get just as many from Canada as from the US! 3) In map mode, it says to zoom in for details but call sign and channel is all you get. Would also be helpful to tap on the call sign to get details on the station or jump to their Website.
I love the compass feature on this app which helps me to orient my antenna without trial and error. Wish it had all the antenna stations I receive which would give it 5 stars. Support for the app is great. When I had an issue I had a reply in less than 12 hours.
This app is a must if you are getting ready to cut the cable or dish and switch to OTA TV. I would give it 10 stars if I could.
Lots of helpful info and seems pretty accurate. The direction to the broadcast is helpful in turning my antenna precisely.
You I'm experienced with anything electronic. This app is very inaccurate. It found 24 channels when I have 57. I have one amplified and one non-amplified DTV antennas in my home. No matter what I did nor where I went TV Antenna Helper always read 24 channels. This in itself is wrong: the deeper you get into an apartment the more the signal attenuates (drops). I pressed the rescan button to no avail. I suggest you avoid this app. Jeff
This application is very useful. It provides you with the tools required to setup an HD TV Antenna with the best possible reception. Those basic channels that you pay Comcast for, are provided free over-the-air in HD. This app shows you how to receive those channels, and the process is completely legal.
Holy cow are you serious this app is free???? Great app for any one curious like me or someone wanting to aim/install a OTA antenna for local stations
I love this app. Had some trouble with a different phone not finding my location but the Developer (Joe) got me on the right path. Had to shut down and remove the battery for a reset. Thanks Joe
