Spin - Bike Around Your City for Android
Won't even open on Android 4.3, it just crashes immediately. Why can I install it if it doesn't work for my version?
App wants me to submit a credit card first even though I got a $10 credit for signing up and 5 free rides with a promo code. No thanks. Lime Bike let me use my free rides and didn't ask for payment till I'd used them all.
Nothing worked. Here's a list: A) It told me I'd get a $10 credit for signing up, but it didn't credit my account. B) It wouldn't let me add my credit card. It accepted the details, but never let me hit the submit button. I had to try three different cards from my wallet before it worked. C) After about 10 minutes of screwing around with the app, I finally got some funds added and tried to unlock the bike. Instead of unlocking, the app kept crashing every time I tried. I might try Lime, but this app has exactly zero features that work.
App is totally broken, didn't function in any way. I entered credit card info twice, it forgot it twice. I just road a bike for a half hour, I'm not sure the bike or spin is aware, as I still have no ride history. Now I have to be vigilant about what they're going to charge me, as incompetence never favors the credit card holder. Spin is going to have to sell their bikes to lime, which has worse bikes, but the app is flawless.
Can't add payment. Deletes payment randomly and then can't add it again. Sometimes wont provide option to unlock bikes
Love the bikes, app is simple and works great too!
The app is useless for locating a bike. A high percentage are shown to be inside locked buildings/garages, which they might be, and others are simply nowhere around where they say they are. It's not like I just missed it because the marker stays on the map for a long time.
Bikes' locations on the map and their locations in the real world are not connected. I end up wandering until I'm lucky enough to stumble across one. Will revise this review if this issue gets resolved.
Good idea. Poor quality bikes. Can't unlock half of the time or not where they're supposed to be.
Doesn't work, never worked. Doesn't even open. Spin bikes ride better than limebikes but I can't open the dam app!
The map does not show the location of any bikes (on a One Plus 3). Looks like I'm just going to use Lime bikes
Awesome service! I love not having to wordy about parking my own bike anymore.
App won't open. Lime bike it is I guess.
Can't open app
Doesn't load. What version android needed?
I can't evem add payment. It sucks!
Awesome bikes and awesome customer service. So helpful!
Doesn't work on my nexus. GPS shows my location (though zoomed WAY out ) but I don't see any bikes! iOS user nearby shows bikes.
The free $10 promo makes you get a friend to join. That's b.s. and severely misleading
Crashes every time I try to open. Shame since I was excited to try their bikes.
Not working on the phone. Keep getting a app failed report message
Bikes are geared a bit high, making it harder to ride in hilly cities. Sometimes bikes that are parked and available do not unlock. Convenient when working!
Couldn't open the app. It 'Unfortunately stops' every time
Doesn't work on my three year old phone.
Bikes dont even appear on my map anymore
Instacrash
1. Bike GPS not accurate, frequently unable to find bikes where they're supposed to be according to the map. 2. App/bike connectivity issues, "starting trip" takes a long time and eventually times out, pretty frustrating. 3. QR scanner notoriously finicky and slow. Must be improved and be a lot more snappy. (Try WhatsApp web authentication for comparison, scans QR code in milliseconds)
Tried to go on a leisurely bike ride with my wife and the app doesn't allow you to unlock two bikes at once! Instead you have to hope the other person brings their phone to download this app. What a joke!
Super buggy app, first off, can't click the "done" button to add a credit card, secondly the warning never loaded so I had to hit "Got It!" Even though I didn't read the warning. Can't you hire some app developers who actually have some experience? Do you even test your product?
I love spin. What a great app. Matter of fact, use code SPINRIDE14 and get 10 free rides.
So far I've been able to find a close bike when I need one, although the bike's location can be hard to find based on its location on the map. Usually they are at least on the same block. I've had trouble getting the QR scanner to work, but entering the serial instead is no big deal. The first bike I rode had a weak front brake and rear brake was very squeaky. The light was pretty useless and the way it was attached made it move out of place with every bump. The app crashed a lot and wouldn't show any bikes at first, even while I was standing in front of one. I had to restart the app a few times before it resolved. Also, if you press the back button, the app minimizes instead of expected behavior of returning to a previous page in the app. But overall, the app is useable and convenient. Eager to see where this goes in spite of initial bugs.
Crashes whenever it loses focus, which is annoying. Otherwise, simple and clean app.
Bikes disappear as I click on each point and when I pan around on map. Confused if it's UI or ghost bikes.
I've been waiting for this a long time. App works great, quick, no issues, easy to get a bike.
App is broken. Unsure if it charged me $1 or $100.
The average rating of 2.5 speaks for itself
I know there aren't any bikes in my neighborhood, but I want to take a Lyft over to where there are some, and then rent one for the day. However, the way the app is set up, I am only allowed to see what's near by - which is none. Please add a way for me to see where there are bikes (outside of my immediate area) so that I can tell my Lyft driver where to take me. Thanks!
Crashes too often, to the point I can't count on it to work
waste of time. endless spinning after I entered payment info.

Lots of phantom bikes, where the map says there's a bike but there really isn't. Also, I supposedly got $20 for signing up, but I had to put money in account before it would let me check a bike out. Then it didn't even let me check out any bikes! I tried it on three or four different bikes around town. No phone holder either. Only reason it has two stars instead of one is because the very first time I used it, it was fantastic. If this thing ever actually works again, it'll still be my second choice bike RENTAL (we're not sharing, don't get it twisted) app just because it doesn't have a phone holder.
