Kalashtami is dedicated to Kaalbhairava. It falls every month on the Eighth Day from Poornima. In Krishna Paksha it is observed on Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha. People also called it as Kala Ashtami, kala Bhairav Ashtami or Maha kala Ashtami.Devotees worship Lord Kalbhairava to get blessings and remove all sins from their life. Kalbhairava is the incarnation of Lord Shiva; people keep fast with much devotion whole day. Kaalbhairava Jayanti is the most auspicious day to worship Kalbhairava. It is believed that Pitru Tharpan and Shraddha rituals are to be done on this day. Special Pooja is performed on this day. On this day Tantriks do Tantra and people also do Kalsarpa Puja, Raksha Puja, Shakti Puja to remove all sins and gain powers to fight with negative energies.
