Manual Camera for Android
Used on Essential phone, passed compatibility tests. The RAW feature is junk. When I get the results from RAW they are blurry, faded and uneditable in Lightroom. Look like a mess. The white balance feature changes the exposure along with the WB which isn't helpful at all. Almost darkens and brightens the color rather than adjusting Kelvin measurement. Hoping to get refund
Pixel 2 XL on 8.0.0 - long exposures simply don't work. App doesn't save RAW files when using long exposures. Desperately needs to be fixed. Leaving me with absolutely no option for long exposures on the Pixel 2 XL as every app is broken and the stock app is a pile of horseshit (minus the HDR+ which is awesome)
This is a first time for me to purchased a paid app. UI and function are easy to us and understand from the newbie perspective which is great. However, an app crashed after saw my photo which I just took from this app, an app crashed which is seems to be annoy users. As this is a paid app, hope you guys need to get it fix ASAP.
Used to work great on my Nexus 5X, but it has a weird bug on my OnePlus 3, where everytime I try to change the exposure, the viewfinder splits in a strange way and the app becomes unusable.
Nearly a 5 star app. As there are still too much noise in the shadows at base iso and a PNG format file would be preferable over jpg
Update broke the app, just crashes on startup. On Pixel XL Oreo
No idea where bad reviews come from, it works flawlessly on nexus 6p, love it to bits, as said in instructions use the compatibility checker! No point in giving bad ratings if your phone is not supported. Not developers fault
I lile how simple to use an its even in a low quality andriod kicks ass. Good job keep up the ???? work.
To the dev please add Google pixel 2 visual core implementation
It's the best camera I've found for android, but the support can be a little random.
Could be a great app, but crashes when trying to do long exposure and sometimes my pics are not saving to the device. Don't buy until it's fixed.
Not able to do long exposure, what a waste of time
Very intuitive, good looking UI. A big down side is lack of video recording which is really a must for camera apps
I have a phone with a monochrome camera and I can't take photos with that.
Doing aggressive noise reduction and sharpening on my lg v20 but it worked well on my lg g4
HORRIBLE SUPPORT. Cannot recommend paying for this app. Developers have not responded to multiple requests for support even though I paid for this app. Despite passing all compatibility tests, this app maxes out at half the device's available resolution, making it useless.
Great camera app. Only one I've found that is consistently good. Not sure why the review score is low. Probably because people don't understand you need Camera2 enabled for manual settings. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
It's a nice app, but it feels a bit lacking. I would like to see support for creative photo modes, such as HDR (with bracketing and photo settings), HHT, Time Lapse, Ultra long exposures, maybe even some autonomy (like remote triggers, timed exposure intervals, etc). Video support would be nice too.
Takes great pictures... when it does. My Google Pixel XL passed the compatibility test. When I click the shutter button, it doesn't always capture the photo. I've missed out on some really good moments because of this. I would like a refund for my purchase as I will not be using this app anymore.
App was previously fully functional on my nexus 6p however since upgrading to Oreo it has failed to successfully store any pictures despite showing a preview in the camera roll preview; no pictures are listed anywhere in the device. YMMV but be wary.
Tested on LG V10 and LG v20. On LG V10 compatibility test app says it's supported, but it always crashes on start. Fail. On the v20 it starts and functions. Shutter is a little faster than the stock app, but you can't use either of the wide-angle cameras. You are limited to 2 of the phone's 4 cameras. This will probably be the case with other phones with duel front or rear cameras as well. Additionally, while understandable, it doesn't take advantage of the secondary screen, which would have been a great place to offload controls to. Not docking any points for failure to support a niche feature like this though.
Manual Camera has become my "go to" app for capturing images. But one major flaw exists that does not allow me to give it a 5 star rating. There is no way for me to save a preset, once I adjust controls to my liking. I take a LOT of images for my eBay store, and use a lighting tent with 6500k lamps. I do have to adjust white balance & focus EVERY SINGLE TIME that I shut down & then restart the camera (to save battery). This is a huge flaw in a production environment. So much so that I took off 2 stars.
Did anybody read the description? It says try the compatibility test first, morons. I think this is a great app (Galaxy S8) and it works well. Doesn't seem as though you can take videos though. Maybe it's only made for pictures. Not sure if it's just professional camera stuff I don't get, but this camera is great.
Absolute waste of money. Don't buy. 1 star for how insanely fast it is. Zero support from developer. Bought it first time around but pics were not not getting saved, thought might be some issue because of Oreo Beta on my Pixel XL. Switching to external gallery app fixes this. But the auto focus is broken. Tap to focus is poor. And the date is broken. All pictures are dated 1970 & are shown before the first photograph clicked with the device. Was lucky to get a refund earlier but this time can't. Wasted money on this. Should have gone for Camera FV-5.
I've installed it on a Huawei P10 Lite - compatibility test passed successfully. Unfortunately RAWs are very bluish and, worst, the colors are wrong, unrecoverable by hue change or any other post-processing (that I know). As long as the same happens with Open Camera, it has to be a phone issue - it probably has to be rooted to finally make it work. Do not expect answer from the developer. I wrote them (or maybe him) twice, different days, different questions, different e-mail adresses (once on contact, once on support), neither for a refund, because I'm going to keep the application anyway, for its nice interface and better quality JPEGs. Only 3 stars, mainly for the lack of support.
Pros: - Relatively simple to use user interface (compared to similar camera apps) - ability to save dag files for later editing (like a raw file). Cons: The jpeg version of the photos taken look rubbish! You need to edit all the dag files in another program and export them to make the pictures look good. I compared this apps jpeg to the ones taken on Samsung default camera app and Google camera app. Googles and Samsung came pretty close and you could see most of the details. With this app the details are jumbled into a blur at any contrast in the picture. This makes it impossible to use for quick shots on auto (unless you want to take the time to edit and export a picture from the dag file). I won't ask for a refund since I hope this will be fixed, but it's a thing that should be mentioned in the description of the app for people who want to take ok photos with saved dag files as a bonous.
It use to work but it doesn't save any of my photos. Found out the hard way. Nexus
Run the compatibility test first, people! This is an amszing app for those who like more control over their phone's camera. It enables DSLR camera features on your Android phone. It does a phenomenal job on the Samsung S8+ (the S8+ already comes with great stock camera/camera software). It's a good app for manual camera enthusiasts.
My pixel passed the compatibility check, and seems to work fine. Until I find out that it NEVER EVER saves any pictures I've taken with the app. Ever. I've checked permissions and they're good. The app just won't save photos.
Half the time I want to capture a shot, it just refuses to respond. What's worse, pressing back on the built-in image viewer closes the app for some reason, and all my settings are reset when I re-enter the app.
The features are great, but when I did a side by side test against the native camera app, it wasn't as sharp. Both apps set to full auto mode, including focus. Would love to get my money back.
Bought it because my phone passed the compatibility test and the controls looked good. Doesn't allow for more than 8mp images with my 16mp Samsung S6. Uninstalled. Would be nice to get a refund too.
Awesome app. The experience could be improved much more by introducing manual video mode. This is a feature I've been waiting for a long time
So I just download for this app and no pictures from it are saved, or can be saved. I need a refund or some help to resolve. I have a pixel XL if that matters
The app doesn't work after Android O update. Takes pics but the pics so not show up in the gallery
This app is pretty much useless with a oneplus 3T. Crashes all the time
Great idea, terrible finish. I have tried to take a photo couple of times and the app freezes, you press the the button, but it doesnt respond. Pointless to have
It is not always works on android o. Manual mode on android o most of the time fail without error or any hint.
Absolutely amazing. Gives you total control of the settings. Almost feels like having my Leica on my hands. If you like to fiddle around with possibilities this is for you. I love it. Simple to use and gives fantastic results. Recommended! BTW I have the app installed on a Nexus 6

This is an excellent app if you want manual settings very easy to use if you're used to using a digital SLR it works very similar. I really love this app I wish that the developer would think about adding video recording. if the developer ads video recording I would give this app 10 stars. This app has the best interface bar none. easy-to-use, very intuitive. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good app Quick controls and works great. The only thing I would add to this app other than video recording is to be able to have the ability for white balance not only temperature control but tint control. I find the added control useful when filming things like sunsets. Sunsets are very hard to get the color correct. Tint plus temperature control would really help in this situation.
