Looking for a good file explorer with a sleek, modern look and many features? Good to see you here!
Solid Explorer is the best looking file and cloud manager with two independent panels, which brings to you a new file browsing experience.

This is the only fully featured file manager with Material Design you can find in the Play Store. It's better, faster and solid when compared to the competition. Apart from the ability to manage files in almost every location, it also gives you many customization options, such as themes, icon sets and color schemes. You can freely adjust the interface to match your taste. Dual pane file browsing with drag and drop greatly increases your productivity.

Solid Explorer is a great cloud file manager, because it provides you a wide support for cloud storages including Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, OneDrive, Mega and Owncloud. This file manager can also connect to your Windows PC and many remote servers working with FTP, SFTP and WebDav. By the way, you will appreciate the ability to create or extract most commonly used archive formats, such as ZIP, RAR and 7ZIP.
Maybe you're tired of ugly looking root explorer apps? This file manager will meet your needs. It features a root explorer with ability to change system level file properties. You don't need to remember about mounting file systems as read/write. Solid Explorer will do it for you automatically.

Solid Explorer is also a great file manager for viewing your media. It can arrange your photos, videos and music in one place for easy and quick access. It has a built in music player and image viewer, which even allow you to play remote content stored for example on your PC, Dropbox, OneDrive or Google Drive. The most cool thing is that the content can be casted to your Chromecast.

Just give it a try! You will not be disappointed.

Initially I liked the ESfile explorer. But after some recent updates the app is filled with ads. Also the interface became cartoonish. On recommendation from a YouTube channel,I used the trail version and surprisingly became fan of this in a few days because of the material design and jam-packed features in such a classy interface. This is my first paid app. But it takes so much time to load despite having a mid range phone with snapdragon625 processor

by N####:

Just about perfect. Would be perfect if only it had an option to display drive sizes on the drop down bar on my Android devices. Maybe it's there and I just haven't found it yet. I will update to "perfect" if I discover that or someone points it out to me. Thank you "NeatBytes" for giving me a reason to use something other than the ES device.

by Y####:

Got tired of ES File Explorer's bloatware and spammy trash. Tried this for 5 minutes; instant purchase. Along with the OTG plugin. It looks good, clean, works so much better, extracts rar's natively, and much more. So worth the cost to keep the dev's working on it and not filling it with trash like their (much inferior)counterparts. Just need NTFS support for my 2TB usb hard drives and I'll be golden.

Liked it but.. lacks wifi transfer and bugged when copy file to external sdcard (the file copied but file size always zero byte). Windows/pane navigation a bit confussing, maybe you can add tab indicator to windows/pane navigation.

N70%
by N####:

Decent but odd design decisions. For instance: if you try to move a file via "cut" the app replaces the navigation menu icon with the "cancel the cut/paste operation" icon. Effectively, it prevents you from moving files to an SD card. It's a baffling decision for an app whose purpose is file management.

by T####:

Tried many file explorers, this is the best one, plain and simple. And it has been updated to support SMB v2!! Which means if you have Windows 10, "Fall Creators Update", this is one of the few File Explorers that will let you access your computer shared folders. FX file explorer works but it's not as good as solid. Es file explorer used to be good but now is bloated and dangerous.

This is one of those apps that's become one of my best investments in Android. Probably the best file manager on the Play Store, and maybe on the whole smartphone platform. Easy enough for tech newbs to use but not overly complicated. Thankfully they don't change their interface with every update, keeping it simple to experienced users. (Like Poweramp)

EDIT: Checked in awhile back and all issues I had were either overlooked by me or added/fixed since my original review (below). This is absolutely the only Android file manager I'll use! This upgrade looks amazing, blends beautifully with Android 5.0, and mostly works as well as SE has in the past. Sadly, some things are missing. 2 examples: "copy/move to opposite panel" and "skip" copying identical files (instead you can basically "replace or cancel operation" as far as I can tell). Larger move/copy operations seem to simply fail without any error message. Alas, I'll be keeping the previous version on hand for now, but with the hope that 2.0 will soon be up to everything!!

Good App, but When copying files to external storage like usb drive it sucks files will not contain full information eventhough the size of the file is same. It is really annoying while copying files to external storage. Using another file explorer just for copying files to external storage.

The app itself is nice and an excellent replacement for ES, but apparently only a trial version. There does not appear to be any mention of that here (without clicking "read more", and it makes me feel misled, which is the sole reason for my 1 star review. Be more upfront.

Very nice app. Straight forward UI, with a lot of options & features. It took me a few days of playing around with it to figure out where everything is at and what it does and all that. But once you get comfortable in the app, it can be an extremely powerful tool.

I have a Oreo Custom ROM and it have a problem when installing apks trough the app, it shows an "Error" message. Please fix it for 5 stars. I really like this explorer and I paid for it

N70%
by N####:

Ok my bad, SMB does work. Had to change to using V1 (apparently V2 is now the default) . Would be nice to have the app fall back if V2 fails

Every thing is good but I don't know why i can't upload any file to my ftp server but can play and pause from the server. Fix this and 5 stars. I complaint the developer via email but got no reply from there side highly disappointed because i paid for it and getting nothing.

I have tried dozens of file managers from paid to free, I'm sticking with this for now. Its very simple and uncluttered, main issue with ES File Explorer Pro is how they made the UI a weird immersive experience like trying to move files around needed an entire OS with windows and weirdness. But honestly its not even the UI that has me swooning Solid Explorer, its the fact that when I attach multiple storage devices, being HDDs SSDs through USB hub or SD card internal or through reader, is they show up with out needed to grant permission every freaking time. Once usage access has been granted and storage etc permissions, that's it, I have not again struggled with any drive or files showing up. File explorer + from the flashlight people is actually a great UI, but I can not ever get permissions to move files from all my cards or drives, or ill have to grant permissions every time, likely a failing of my V20 firmware and not the app, but this explorer alleviates these issues nonetheless. Secondary, yea the app is very simple and the graphical interface is intuitive, clean/uncluttered with large text and very simple copy/pasting from a great split screen setup, much like using Windows and having two windows up side by side and moving files from one to the other, maybe not THAT easy, but its so far the best that I can remember on mobile. Thanks.

Hey guys, great work on the app. The cloud storage options have stopped working. Can't open my Google drive folders. Says an error occurred. Options are to cancel or retry. But none of the options are functional.

The built-in text editor doesn't work. Sometimes when you select text in the editor it crashes. Couldn't switch input methods in the text editor either. 18.02.27 it's fixed. Here are your five stars!

N70%

It's very efficient and simple to use but there are a few tweaks that could greatly improve utility, like hiding folders and files, the player is obsolete to me but not a great con. Overall a great file manager.

I use this application on an LG V20 smartphone. I wanted to find an android file explorer that looked great. Solid File Explorer is what I have found that works the best. My phone supports external SD cards, and I use Solid File Explorer to move things around and delete files I don't need anymore. I love this application because it is easy to use, and I have not had any issues. You can read technology and video game articles I have written at HubPages. https://hubpages.com/@ericfarmer8

Good app overall... I don't understand why we have to pay more after we buy the full app to get themes, and also no Adaptive Icon support?

I70%

Rubbish. A trial for what? An app that does hardly anything compared to something like ESexplorer (which is free). I installed this to check out folder sizes, and all the sizes calculated by this app are grossly incorrect as compared to diskusage. Uninstalled immediately.

Editing my review Oct 17, update for SMBv2 is severely needed and as far as I can see, no where in sight. Devs, you need to pick up the ball, most of the other managers, even the free ones, have already updated and for the userbase of this app, I expected more.

After last update the Google Drive API stopped working completely. Every time just "Unknown error" pop up. Edit: Reconnecting to account helped.

Simple app that covers all functionalities you'd want from a file explorer. Contains no bloatware or useless utilities which is a huge +

Just bought the pro version. Loves the simplicity. But I think you can do a much better job polishing the UI keeping it simplistic.

N70%

Very good file manager, but since a couple of days, I am not able to access my Cloud Storages (Mega and Dropbox), it just does nothing after I tap authenticate using Fingerprint. Also, while adding new storages, it stops after adding fingerprint for encryption. Please fix it.

Holy call I've used every file manager under the sun but this one takes the Cake. Heck it could probably bake you a cake, it's that feature rich. Multi-file renaming/conversion, mass encryption, quality compression with 7zip support to name a few. I bought a few add-ons because I like the dev. It beats the pants off of googlesodt recent file manager. Use the dark theme if you have an AMOLED screen

Seems i need tap hold drag drop to share items(files). Selecting, tap menu, find share, tap share = kinda lame. Thanks

Just what I needed on my S8 a great file explorer with many extra features that is very useful and the look of the app is also very customisable so can be used to save power on super amoled displays by using dark colours, it's worth every penny

Love the interface. Would help if a progress bar was available when transferring files to cloud storage. Hope android TV will be supported and FTP server would be nice

Yes, tried this on my S7, had to persevere to cut/copy between SD and USB but succeeded eventually, though same problem with different USB. Tab worked straightaway so does what I want it to do but not as easily as I'd like.

This file manager is the best! It has all I need, but i would recommend adding the option to choose any color instead of some specific ones in the theme section. Hope you keep rolling out updates!
