JUNE 1-3, 2016 ~ LISBON, PORTUGAL
The Financial Intermediation Research Society (FIRS) Conference
After ten successful conferences (Capri 2004, Shanghai 2006, Anchorage 2008, Prague 2009, Florence 2010, Sydney 2011, Minneapolis 2012, Dubrovnik 2013, Québec City 2014, Reykjavík, 2015), the Financial Intermediation Research Society (FIRS) is pleased to announce that the next conference will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, June 1-3, 2016.
Program and Location
The conference will begin after lunch at 1:30pm on June 1, and conclude in the evening of June 3. This year’s conference was very selective with 1,050 paper submissions. In addition to a very high quality program, the conference will feature a keynote speech by Franklin Allen, Professor of Finance and Economics at Imperial College, London, and a founding member of FIRS.
The venue will be the Intercontinental, Lisbon, Portugal (http://www.intercontinental.com/lisbon), which is close to the historical downtown area. Lisbon, built on seven hills, is the capital and largest city of Portugal. As one of the oldest cities in Europe, it has much to offer in terms of museums, gardens, monuments, and architecture. Just outside of Lisbon are ocean-facing beaches, as well as the historic villages of Sintra and Cascais.
