Pipeline BlowOut

This app calculates the volume lost of a natural gas pipeline due to blow out. In addition the max. volume flow is calculated.

The temperature of the gas is assumed by 278K, the gas law deviation coefficient is approximated. Furthermore we assume, the neighboring valves are shut, so the total volume is derived by the distance between these valves. The user is requested to give the pressure data as absolute pressure value.

In case the blow out occures by an leackage, the app calculates in addition the max. volume flow through the leackage.

The max. volume flow results of the product of the sonic speed of the gas and the leackage area. Isentropic exponent and spec. gas constant are chosen to match the parameters of natural gas with a calorific value of 11.5 kWh/m3.
