The Physical Web is a discovery service powered by bluetooth low energy beacons. Smart objects broadcast relevant URLs that any nearby device can receive. This simple capability can unlock exciting new ways to interact with the Web. People can walk up to any device - a vending machine, a poster, a toy, a bus stop, a rental car - and get useful content via URLs.

Works great for setting up Physical Web proof of concepts (obviously you have to have beacons too). I can't wait until this is a core feature of the OS.

Tried it with estimote beacon configured for Eddystone URL. It never detected the beacon...

Tested this app at an art event in Nashville, but it crashed on opening every time. Nexus 5, Android 5.1.1. Uninstalling.
