File Widget for Android
Just what I needed Edit: I've been using this app for a year now. I initially put 5 stars. But lately it starts to crash. The icon picture disappear every time I turn off and on my phone. And can't re-put it again... I think that the problem is lack of updates to make it compatible and bug fixing.
Same problem as file shortcut. Whatever the last file shortcut I create, it takes over all my previous shortcuts. Just tried Create Shortcut and I don't have this problem
I tried 4 or 5 was to create a homescreen widget to an html file that will open in Naked Browser. Since Chrome doesn't open local files, most other shortcut apps won't work. But this pops up which browser to open in, and once done will open directly! My only reason for not 5 star is need for option to eliminate label. Even if you use no name the black label area shows up.
It's okay. Accomplished the shortcut-on-desktop purpose. The feature where you can pick a custom icon for the shortcut causes the app to crash on my Pixel. Running Oreo.
I love the app. It's simple and does the job. Just one problem- Please make the widget 1X1
Amazing app, so simple and so effective! Makes me wonder why android developers haven't already integrated this feature since it has been there on the PC practically as long as there has been PC'S.
Great, but custom icon images disappear after any reboot. Any way to fix that? (if not, then the custom icons are useless) also, opening app selection "always" will not hold on documents. Galaxy S3.
This simple widget pack is exactly what I needed to create links to files and system folders, such as my downloads folder. Now I don't have to sift through my main system folder for things I want and no more downloading then moving to desktop folders. It's also non-invasive in that it does not need access to seemingly unnecessary stuff, as some apps are today. A+!!!
I like it! Prolly won't be using it now coz Media Shortcut just gives a better look.. so I would say that this app still needs a lil more work on the appearance... Don't get me wrong.. I like how it's all done... (^_^)/
It is a very good app...but I can't organise my file widgets into a folder...also the folder widget opens a file manager and one can browse through all the folders...thus there is no security please solve these problems...otherwise its a great app... I add the 5th star after the above problems are solved :)
An excellent idea as many android files are in strange locations and hard to find. Being able to create shortcuts to files and folders makes finding them later much easier. One missing feature is the ability to edit shortcuts later if the edit box was not selected initially. This forces users to delete shortcuts and start again.
All my files in the folder are listed but when I click one (in this case saved emails) it says I can't open it. I don't have this problem when going directly into my files and doing it from there so something is missing in order to be able to open it thru widget.
When I created my own icon (great feature), the program crashed. Then works fine. Not sure why, didn't work then did. Shortcut only works if installed, disappears if uninstalled. Why isn't the shortcut a real, static object?
Works fine. Has full access to the file system and the external SD card, contrary to what another user said. (Just as in Linux you click on the folder with two dots to go up one level and navigate to the desired directory.) ES Bookmark Manager worked on my last phone but not on my Galaxy Note 2. This is a good replacement.
Same problem as file shortcut. Whatever the last file shortcut I create, it takes over all my previous shortcuts. Just tried Create Shortcut and I don't have this problem
I got it to work only once. When you click "Create shortcut" it doesn't! It goes back to the widget. Once, I was able to drag the widget to the homescreen, but never again.
Love its small installer size, but cache cleaners erase the file widget icons. Also, when you edit a file widget it sometimes forgets the target.
Crashes if you use the "edit" shortcut on the icon and save your changes. Galaxy S III. Great, otherwise.
Too complicated for the numerous files I need shortcuted… takes 2 minutes each, I need something much faster!
Never seen a program written better then this! Flawless, simple, fast, effective. Brings tears to the eyes of every programmer out there...
Why you can't do this in Android is a mystery, but this app does it easily for me. Love it!
Works OK but where are Google Drive off-line files hidden. Can't see any way to point to these.
Amazing, a simple app that does what it says it does. That’s rare enough, but it also happened to be exactly what I was looking for.
I love that I can pick my own icon but I just can't stand that I have to put a title. If that option is removed I'll five star. It messes with the clean look of my desktop.
The GUI is really ugly, but you see it only once so that's fine. Created shortcuts work perfectly.
Great APP. Very well done. SOOO easy to navigate. Worth every penny.
Thank you so much finally a file manager widget. Checking my downloads can more faster now!
If possible to have a 1x1 widget and not a single row widget. Better space management. I'm using Aviate launcher. Add some basic icons, for files as I'm using Aviate launcher. per type, like images, pdf, text, word, sheet, Web page, archive etc. this way I can choose. Another alternative
I love the app. It's simple and does the job. Just one problem- Please make the widget 1X1
Does exactly what is wanted and makes my phone more like a computer and easier to use
Good, but needs option to open folder with file explorer of choice. Or just add option to customise order of files in your file explorer.
Just what I wanted. Small and exact. I have many files on my phone for work, and this neat little app gives me the means to make a 1*1 widget that gives me a link straight to a file. I've tried similar apps but this one is the best. Strongly recommended.

Does what it says and doesn't want anything in return, gold...
Been looking for a shortcut that works This is it in my galaxy note and also my galaxy 10.1 pad
It would be nice if you could filter for file types. Thanks
I tried Folder Organiser to create Homepge shortcut to a folder and to change its icon - fiddly, using labels, etc. Couldn't get it to work, and I paid for it! This app does the job I want and it's free!! Would pay for this app; should receive more publicity.
I had used one app that created shortcuts before, but I couldn't customize them. With this one I can. But -unlike the other app-if I uninstall this one it will be deleted, because it is just a widget :'(
Been using this for a few years and never fail me. Everything I need to be on the homescreen that can bring me straight to my favorite files and folders.
