Usb Share [Root]

Cannot get it to work for Note 3. It shares a Cddrive even if I set it as a virtual usb. $5 for a app that really does not do what its supposed to especially as it it $5 which should be kept up to date.

Used it in android 4.3, works for awhile. After upgraded to Android 4.4 and above, it stopped working. The developer no longer response. :(

When I first bought this I gave it 4 or 5 stars cuz it seemed so easy. But I have since discovered that my first success was random dumb luck. I switched from iphone over a year ago and while I love Android OS I also would like to share the secret of Apple's success: They cater to normal-dumb people who like things simple! You plug it in it works. A person using this app must have knowledge of "luns", "virtual images", "mounting", "autounsharing", "mass storage" and whatever. Make it for dummies like me.

First, it works great without encryption. Second, it is very handy. I still need to determine how to boot from it. Third, documentation is very weak. I'm writing a review, in hopes the dev will see it.

This program is awesome. I didn't realize when I switched from my iPhone 5s to the LG G3 that Android now used MTP (big mistake on their part). So I couldn't listen to music in my car again considering that Microsoft and Android are the only companies that use MTP, because it is a buggy, slow and terrible protocol. My only problem is when I enable a share, it pops up a message for me to enable UMS, and if I want it to default to this I should go to Advanced settings.. well, I don't have a button for advanced settings. Besides that this is a real life saver, and I can listen to music in my car again!

Ah, the typical you have to install an irrelevant and redundant extra app (smanager) for it to be useful at all. I wonder when will this developer realize that we dont want to install his useless file manager. considering we already have our own better preferred one. The lack of vision is strong among android developers.

Trying to mount a movie folder, looks like the 4GB file limit deducts 4 stars - Sorry

Thanks for the update. The "share" partition button is now somewhat less accessible (being at the top of the screen in the title bar) and the "delete partition" button is now much more accessible (being at the bottom of the screen next to "mount"). I certainly use "share" more often than "delete". Maybe they should be swapped? I had hoped that this update would teach usbsharer not to run when I plug my phone in for charging, but it still pops up and disrupts whatever application I happen to be running. :-(

All it took was unlocking then rooting the device then purchasing this and FINALLY I can play my music via. USB on my aftermarket car stereo, USB mass storage does the trick MTP boo. Lots of work for something so simple, glad this app is around and works though. There is nothing else like it. I have a Nexus 4.

The only app I've paid for because it's the only one that works if you need mass storage mode on Android 4.0 and up to connect your phone to your USB car stereo and listen to MP3 or WMA music on your phone. Really glad I paid for this. A real life saver.

I like playing music on my car stereo directly from the phone. Trouble is that USB mass storage (UMS)is not supported on Nexus 5 only mtp which does not work on my car. This app is the solution to the problem. It enables UMS, kind of... and it is not that obvious how to use it. I use it in this way. Created a container file and shared it via the app. This way file acts as a virtual sdcard. Then I connect phone to PC and copy music on to it.

Great application. But is it really necessary to request root permission every time application is started or every time charger is plugged? Isn't it possible to request root permission just for actions it is needed for? Five stars if fixed.

No longer works on my Note2 running CM10.2. Worked perfectly before with CM10.1. Please do not use with Jellybean 4.3

I tried for hours to get my Toyota satnav to play music from my SG3 via usb with no luck until I found this great app. Thanks for the hard work and fast responses to my questions.

There are very few apps which dramatically increase the utility of my phone, and this is one of them. Does exactly what it says it does, and does it well. The interface is also quite good. It may not win any beauty contests, but all the options are right where you need them and well labelled without being cluttered. Be warned, this app is for people who know what they are doing. It is an advanced tool that knows its place.

I am using this on a Galaxy Note running CM9 nightly. Just created a new USB share and am now downloading the latest 12.04 Ubuntu ISO to copy on the USB. The ability to share encrypted LUKS disks is pretty awesome as well. Well worth the price.

As a sysadmin, it's nice to be able to boot my ISOs from my phone. I can be a hero in an instant. Thanks!

I currently have most of my tools previously booted off disk or network now always with mean. Rootkit scanner, hardware testing utilities, winpe, acronis, Ubuntu ( with aircrack utility installed for breaking wifi passwords with any laptop around ;) ) pretty much anyone who does computer repair of any kind should own this.

Simple to use and powerful to control what can be accessed via usb sharing.

Best money ever spent, it's the cure for car radios that go stupid scanning all folders on sd for media files, ending up playing GPS sounds or what not. Worked on my Sensation XE perfectly, it didn't when I got my Galaxy S3 tho, due to stupid MTP USB mode instead of simply using mass storage mode. So I mailed developer and got an reply less then 24 hours later with a updated app with a fix for my phone attached. Very useful app and godlike support from developer.
