How much can I borrow?
Your starting credit limit depends on whether you have an invite from a Zidisha member in good standing, and whether you choose to make a security payment into the Members Loan Fund. Your credit limit will increase with each loan depending on your record of on-time repayments, up to a maximum of US $10000. You can earn bonus credit limit increases on top of the base credit limit by inviting new members or serving as a Volunteer Mentor.
What are the fees and interest?
Zidisha loans do not carry interest. The total cost for each loan is a service fee of 5% of the loan amount, to cover the cost of transferring and administering the loan.
Members are also asked to pay a one-time membership fee in order to join Zidisha. The current membership fee 10% of the starting credit limit chosen.
Members who choose to begin borrowing with larger starting credit limits must make a one-time payment into the Zidisha Members Loan Fund, which is used for reimbursing lenders in the event of default.
Fees are paid only if the you succeed in raising a loan, and entitle you to raise an unlimited number of loans of increasing amounts at zero interest.

For those wishing to pay previous loans and get fresh with an estimation waiting period of 3 days be on aleart things have changed. We now have more delays. Your application will stay pending for one week waiting to be reviewed by zidisha team b4 it is published for lenders to fund it. Another one week for lenders to fund the loan sometimes funding even goes for two weeks. Another one week or two for the loan to be sent in your Mpesa account. Kindly please look for alternative way of getting money you will wait to receive 500 for one & half a mounth from zidisha. .You might at end even after wqiting fail to get the loan.

I love the app because as a student I have been getting the funds I need by just saying the real purpose of the loan.E.g rent,school fees,cloths, An advise for late payment is because funding is done by investors using a different currency leading to 3-4 days delays. But its the best lending app I have used so far.

The app has helped me before but sometimes it is very unreliable.It can take 2 days telling you that your session has expired and it can be very frustrating.BUT so far so good i have benefited and their interest rates are good.
