Bodhi Timer is an elegant, minimalist countdown timer. It is designed mainly for use as a meditation timer but can easily be used for any similar purpose.
Set the time via the clock icon in the top left. You may set presets by choosing a time then holding down on one of the three preset buttons.
You may alternatively use speech to set the time by long-pressing the clock button. (These behaviours can be swapped via the preference screen.) To set multiple timers using speech, separate using the word "again", as in "five minutes again ten minutes"
Pause / resume via the button in the bottom left, and stop the timer via the button in the bottom right. The top right button is the preference button.
You may add a timer widget to your desktop via the App Drawer, or on your lockscreen (Android 4.2+).
Animation may be toggled between an image and one of four circle animations, chosen from the preferences screen.
Bodhi Timer is based on the free and open source TeaTimer by Ralph Gootee:

One of best simple small timer with beautiful bell chime, allow external audio and pictures import in new update. Light on battery, unlike other timers wakelock cpu for whole usage draining so much battery. Pls sir, adds interval timer setting and unlimited multiple presets . Also auto log sessions(duration, time) with manual add session feature, plus daily, monthly, yearly bar chart graphs for tracking. Thank you.

The timer is a great concept, but the timer is not consistent with the gong/bell tone after the countdown has finished. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. Please fix this bug. I use it for yoga and I stay in a posture and after some time I realise the countdown had finished but there was no alarm.

This was a 5-star app until it stopped chiming/ringing at the end of sessions. All volumes are at max, but still no sound at the end despite Test Sound working fine. This happened on occasion before, but with the latest update, it happens every time, sadly rendering this once-superb app largely useless. I've been using this app for years, but will have to look elsewhere at least until developers sort out the issue. Used on Huawei GR5 2017

Perfect in its simplicity. It would be nice to customize the bells, for example selecting the "Singing Bowl" and allowing it to ring twice or three times. However, lack of this is really not an issue at all. Very peaceful app

HTC phone seems to stop app from working when in hibernation no matter what priority setting selected. Works well in Samsung tablet initially but now having issue. Bye bye Bodhi Timer. You were once good but now ruined by impermanence...

This timer is great. Lots of options for start and stop sounds. And I love that it doesn't track when you meditate I always felt like those apps where a game and not a way to just sit and meditate

This is a nice timer but the gong doesn't always chime at the end. I think I have solved this by not using the presets and by changing the timer slightly on each use. Not ideal but will do for now.

Beautiful interface, soothing sounds, simple, elegant... I loved it. Unfortunately, it has just quit working 3 times in the last 5 uses. I contacted the developer, but he's no longer working on this project. Will use again we can answer the riddle "What is a timer that doesn't keep time?"

Very simple but very effective. No ads, no nonsense, nothing but a countdown timer with a nice sound. My favorite bit is you don't need to switch it off or anything when it's done, you just meditate, it makes a nice bell sound and you're finished.

Auto repeat just stopped after 3 repeats. It should not stop until I tell it to. Auto repeat doesn't work at all in advanced mode. Could not figure out how to change advanced mode settings. Got frustrated & uninstalling.

Takes you a minute to set it up for pomodoro-style getting things done with multiple 25 minute sessions of work/study with 5 minute breaks in-between. Bodhi timer does not have any connectivity built into the app at all. So no ads or even statistics unlike many others.

It's a very nice little app. Unfortunately, it doesn't block other sounds (while you are sitting), which is a pretty significant flaw.

The auto repeat works about 50% of the time. The advanced mode usually works but last time I used it it got stuck and wouldn't advance. I have no problem paying to have these bugs fixed because otherwise it's exactly what I want.

No permissions, doesn't try to sell me anything.Esthetically pleasing and it does just what it says it does and nothing else. Thank you for this lovely app. For those of you who are having trouble getting it to work properly, with the Android 6.0 update, you now control more permissions. On the app, go into settings, (the 3 little dots in the upper right hand corner), and scroll down until you get to 'stay awake'. Click the box next to it and that will keep your phone from going to sleep while using. ????
