Classical Music Radio WQXR for Android
Great app, except for the alarm clock. It worked once. Set it again and it went off, but no sound. All volumes on device are on. Have tried numerous times, but to no avail. The alarm engages, but no sound is heard. Very disappointing.
I love this app, I listen to the Johnathan Channel all the time. But the "wake up" function has never been working for me... Whenever it is time to alarm it has no sound at all... Can anyone help me?
I love operavore; I got the app so I could hear it on my Android phone. BUT the darn thing plays for a few seconds before it quits! If they solve that problem I will give it five stars.
Audio is very choppy on your app but your audio is fine on iHeartRadio not sure what the difference until problem.is fixed I have to use iHeartRadio any solutions for the problem
Cannot stream in the background. If I switch to another app—my navigation app, for example—the sound stutters so badly I cannot make anything out. I want to listen to WQXR while using my phone, and right now I cannot. (Not with this app, anyway.)
Download section doesn't work, stream is inconsistent, and you can't simply turn it off. Too bad!
It plays for 2 seconds and then stops and won't restart! Agh!
This would be my favorite app if it would work for more than five minutes before starting to cut in and out, then freezing completely.
Special and very good program. But it's not possible to hear music in background. Please fix (BlackBerry priv)
Unstable in WiFi environment. Please fix the bug
Wonderful early morning music.
Best classic radio
other than that, its great. But i removed this app from both of my phones because of it.
Deserves 5 stars plus more. However, now experiencing problems - it won't start and when it does I have to force close? Please fix! No improvement for a long time so have no choice but to lower rating!
I like getting updates about downloads available for the kind of music I have favorited...also love being able to stream on the go or in the garden where my radio isn't practical!
Beautifully programmed clasic music. Thanks
Great music and good functionality == fine app.
The streams sometimes fail or get disrupted but otherwise works great!
Just got this great app today but but now I can't listen in :( what's going on??
Great music but app keeps crashing
This is a very great music app. It worked great for me last night
I have listen through xiia live for past 2 years. Great music and commentary. Great station!
Amazing user interface . Its brilliant, functional and very easy to use.
I love ghotic and instrumental music
Nice
Needs Chromecast support
Terrific and Fabulous
If you are having an issue, turn off WiFi. Hit Play, and turn WiFi back on. Note: this is a connection bug with Android NOT this app. Spotify does the same thing. I loved WNYC for 20 years, esp their featuring of New Music - now under Q2. The app works with no issues for me. If it were a different organization, I would not install the app due to the COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY WiFi network and identity permissions. There is 0 reason for needing this, but I'm not worried about WNYC stealing my identity.
Love the app, but it won't stop unless I do a serious force stop. BAD. 4/18/16 Update: Installed the latest version hoping to fix the problem of not being able to stop the music and this seems to have been fixed but now using any other app causes the music to drop out. It sounds like a popping noise.
When it's on it has no sound whatsoever, i dont know where is the problem
Maybe I'm spoiled but turning WiFi on and off is a PITA ... going back to Pandora One.
Great music, but in-your-face behavior is so obnoxious that I uninstalled the app. WQXR notification can't be removed, and there seems to be no way to exit the app or to stop the music from playing. LG V10 Phone (Verizon) running Android 5.1.1.
Pleased this app exists. It's simple to use and you can get your classical music fix 24/7. It does have glitches but you can work around them. Sometimes the app has a mind of its own. Dislike the persistent notification presence. Consider the chaos if all apps pulled this trick. However, the music dwarfs these issues.
When I select a channel, all I get is the spinning wheel, no music playing. I've tried closing and reopening the app, rebooting my phone, and reinstalling the app. I only kept it because it shows what's currently playing and what was played in the past, so I keep it open while I have the station streaming on Google chrome app. Please fix! I'd like the whole app functional.
Great app, love the access to different channels. Only negative is the persistent notification that you can't get rid of.
Why is the assumption made that this app is only used on phone screens ? Should be able to accommodate landscape screens on tablets as well as portrait use on phones !
Why is there still no exit or quit button? I would give this a 5 for sure if I didn't have to go to the settings and "Force Stop" the app each time I wanted to get it to fully close out. Fix this please...on all the WNYC related apps.
Great classical music when I'm out of broadcast area but cannot close app. It's updated
Each time I want to play it, it crashes. I must uninstall, install, waste of my time. Why not fix it?

The audio quality is stellar, and I honestly have had few problems in using the app. However; On dialing back the permissions for the app, (Why does a basic streaming app need access to Photos, Media, Files, Device ID and Call Information?) I got an error that this would likely break it on account of the app being designed for an older version of Android. Based on this error, it seems that the gap between the app's listed compatibility of 4.0 and above and my device's version (6.0.1) is broad enough to potentially cause problems.
