Combat Assistant

Some really great features compared to others I have tried. I especially like the save and clone monster and condition tracking. Only suggestion would be to add more notes or ways to track other things, like types of attacks and bonuses. I did try putting these in the notes area but found if I include a comma it screws up the whole entry on save.

I'm using this app for d&d 4e and it helps a great deal. It would be better if there was some form of cloud storage for switching between devices. Also if there were a space for enemy abilities, I would consider this to be a perfect app.

Used to be much better... i dont know why the dev decided to remove the ability to edit templates, but it really makes me sad.

Putting in the characters and monsters and initiative and damage and effects takes longer than just tracking things directly. Try free before buying.

I love this app. It has made combat run so much more smoothly ever since I started using it and the more features I use, the better everyone's experience gets. It's great!

It us very useful to keep track of initiative for the DM. Still need something for the players to look at though, but nothing this can do about that. Very good app.

I have searched for the best way to track initiative, hp and conditions, and this was a gold mine. Easy and intuitive!

This app does everything I need it to for simple combat management. If it had spaces for touch and flat-footed AC, and maybe CMB and CMD for Pathfinder, I would consider this absolutely perfect.

Is there anyway to transfer saved data to a new device? Add that or let me know how it can be done for 5 stars!

Great application, although I have a few suggestions: I miss is the option to add a note which to know which monster is which miniature. I wish I could save a complete combat progress, because it happens that my group cannot finish a really long combat and we have to continue on another occasion. When a player goes to negative HP, according to the rules any healing the player receives gets it's HP into positive values, not counting up from the negative HP.

As an old school dm, entering the digital age was slow and painful. Now I am slowly discovering apps that have made me wonder why I was so resistant to the change and this app is on the top of my dm toolkit. My players love the quick entry and speed with which combat now takes place through the use of this app. No longer are spell durations neglected or status effects subject to reconomancy. Everythi g gets logged quickly, set it and forget it stlye. Useful in so many editions and systems. Love it!

Makes running combat in my pathfinder game so much easier

Love the app but just deleted all of my saved creatures when trying to export them. The delete button is right next to the export button. There should be a confirm box for any delete like this! Does anyone have an exported file of monsters?

I'm terrible at remembering lasting and continuing effects, and this app really helps. Much better than pencil and paper.

Does everything I need for 4e, and it can be easily modified for other systems as well.

Functionally, this app is perfect. The layout is ugly though, and the landscape layout is virtually unusable because of the size of the buttons. My plan was to connect my phone to an external monitor to display combat order and hp, but unfortunately I can't do that effectively with this app.

Used in a combat with eight 11th level players and a bunch of PNJs, many of them mages. This app made the difference between the hell it could have been, and the fun it was!!

With this app it cuts all of my work as a DM in half!

I purchased it, have active internet, and I'm logged in, yet it won't register the license. This really annoyed me

I love this app! It makes running a game so much easier with only minimal planning. The more planning the better it is. I only wish I could find it on the Kindle Fire. It's larger screen than a Razr would be 100x better. Please make it happen.

Every time I open to use it doesn't work, it keeps telling me to be logged in and online. I either want a fix or my money back please.

It takes a little bit of set-up, but is really useful especially for remembering status effects that have been applied.

This is the best initiative tracker I have found! It just keeps getting better.

Awesome app that could only be better if it had a 5e version, since thats what my group voted to switch to. Got several games worth out of it, though, and didn't have a single complaint.

Would like to see the ability to save monsters in Encounter files and be able to load all monsters at once instead of adding one at a time. Sam goes for party members. Support for. DnD4e files and monster files instead of plain CSV. Support for DDI?

Excellent dm tool easy to use except the initiative part, once I figured how to change that it is an excellent dm tool!

Great app! Now I would like to see a new update or separate app for R&D Next (5) hopefully real soon.

This app seems to work well and keeps track of a lot of info. It's perfect for DM's who want to have saves and stuff in front of them. Only suggestions to the app creator are to add an NPC option in a 3rd colour text, or maybe 'groups' for allies and enemies. You can change icons but I wish there were some to choose from, of just simple colours. Keeping track of rounds would be helpful too.

I am using this app for Star Wars Saga. Speeds up initiative, cause I don't have to wait for players to find their dice, cause combat can take a bit. Just wish it could track force points and be able to subtract damage easier.

This is a great program to keep track of everything, my only quam with it is the ties in initiative. Can you change it so 2 people go at the same time instead of saying "coin is flipped and person x is going first"

I'm using this app to keep up with initiative, hitpoints and ongoing conditionals in my 3.5/d20 game. Although it's designed for 4E, you can rename the fields and customize what's shown to easily tweak it for another edition or system. I know there's other apps out there that offer initiative tracking but this one feels right, doesn't bug out on me and has yet to disappoint. Only feature I wish it had was the option to change the initiative roll: I play different editions of D&D, so it'd be handy if we could change initiative to be rolled on a d6 (Old-School) or like 2nd edition (d10, going lowest to highest.) But that's a nitpik I can work around. I hope Vision Software continues to tweak this app, and I'll recommend it to any DM.
