Umbra for Android
If it only had statistics on how far you've traveled or how much area you've uncovered, I would have given 5 stars
Really good idea I like it a lot 1st app I got wen I got back to a android
Maps are no longer working.
Discontinued
not sure what im doing wrong but importing a .gpx does nothing. tried .tcx and .fit too but no new trails appear on the map. hoped to use a backup from a previous install but again, nothing
Its a cool concept and I like seeing all the places I've been
This is my absolute favorite app. Unfortunately it quits often unexpectedly and now with a new phone I cannot import the gpx track from my previous phone. The app stops during the import of locations
Won't import gpx
I just downloaded the app and it won't even open. It just stops. I can't even send in an error report. This app sounds like just what I need but it doesn't work for me.
The core aspect of the app, which is the map, no longer works. It doesnt display any map at all anymore. I've waited for the developer to fix it but it has been about a month with nothing done. This app is dead.
I've fiddled with all the settings I can find and I still can't get it to reliably record where I go. It's not just the automatic mode that doesn't work; I couldn't always get it to work even with the app open.
Great concept, loved using it and unlocking the world for many months. Then I needed to change my phone and I find out this program does not save your data anywhere outside of your phone. You can export some kind of data but without any explanation about how to use it and where to put it. Result: lost six months of travelling, including places I'll never visit again.
I like the concept and the settings that it theoretically gives you, however some of the settings I like just don't seem to work. I set it to not start on boot and it still does. I also tell it not to keep an icon in the notification drawer and it always does, which gets really annoying. I can't in any way confirm this next part, but it feels like it drains my battery quite a bit, but it might just be me. Despite all of this I'd still recommend giving it a shot and seeing how it works for you. (Samsung GS6)
Works flawlessly
Fun to see!
Starts when phone is restarted even when I have that option turned off. Other then that, a fun way to exercise.
I got this app about a year or two ago and I'm glad the app has lots of bugs removed. I would like some kind of leaderboard or xp system like fog of war though. When I had an iPhone I loved the xp system and levels. Please find some way to implement it. Great app though
With most recent update start at boot is on by default no matter if the setting it checked or not. Also when trying to exit the app it crashes every time. When trying to relaunch after crash GPS only connects half the time, and takes a while to do so.
I might not know how to use it well or it's my phone but I can't leave it in the background and have it still discover the world
I really like this app, and the way it updates in the background (the old app would not update constantly unless the app was in the foreground. 1 request though, I have a lot of waypoints in the old app, I wish there was a way to import it to the new app.
I have the start on boot option off, but the app still starts when I turn on my phone. It also starts randomly seemingly whenever it feels like it.
Great if I can manually unlock area by drawing on it to indicate places I have been to before
There is room for improvement but its awesome to have this on android! Well done!
For me the app crashes every single time when I try to scroll in the options menu. The app also seems to start when my phone boots, even though the option is checked off. Changing this setting is impossible because of the bug mentioned before.
Shame I've never been able to import data, and it doesn't record in the background.
To much fun my only wishes is for it to run in the back ground and track where I am as I only seem to get it when I have it open and secondly a leader boards so you can track your friends progress
I'm not sure whether to choosing walking or car mode when I'm biking.
No matter if it was on walk or car mode, the "fog of war" would only update every 30 seconds or so. Sometimes it would work properly and it's a cool app when it works, but I'm having to many problems with it.
I was amazed that there was new version of the app as I had been using the older version for quite some time now. So far the new app has yet to disappoint. I have one question, is there any way to retain the progress that was made on the old app?
No crashes since most current update. Unlocked map becomes very pixelated when zooming out. FEATURE REQUEST: Ability to remove GPX files after uploading to app.
You can now export data so you don't lose your previously explored map!
Uau.... Super app, super update...
Awesome, awesome app

The map is not displayed at all. Only see the blue dot on a white 'map'. Xperia XZ.
