Grandfather Clock

Ever since getting my phone for Christmas, I have been looking for some chimes to remind me what time it is without having to look at my phone. I tried Swinging Pendulum, and it worked OK for a few days, but then started in chiming several minutes late, and then wouldn't chime at all -- all in the course of just a few days, so I uninstalled it. I then discovered this app last week and decided to install it, and I'm happy to say that it has never missed a beat and has always chimed right on time, which is just what I was looking for. That said, I consider the name "Grandfather Clock" to be a misnomer for this app, since none of the chimes sound like they came from a grandfather clock. Westminster, which I use, sounds like it came from a mantle clock instead, which I can live with, but it's also why I'm only giving this 4 stars. Oh, and "Westminster" is misspelled in the chime list. Yes, I'll admit, I'm splitting hairs here -- but still, this is a wonderful app that I definitely plan to continue using, although chimes that sound like they really did come from a grandfather clock would be on my wish list for future versions of this app.

Used this app for a while. It has serious stability issues, starting and stopping at random. Also, doesn't auto start, even with third party start managers. Auto start will only open the ui, won't actually start the app. Pretty much makes it useless if I have to manually restart the app every hour to hear chimes

Serious bugs. If you set range when chimes should be active, the app makes sounds anyway. Fix = 5 stars

Worked great for 1 day. Now stops after an hour or so. Version 2.1 on a Note 2.

Set itself off at 5am. Causes phone to lock up many ways. Nice concept but incredibly poor execution.

Cut battery life in half single handedly. Not so good since it is always running

There are exactly 3 sounds of church bells, which are all of a very bad sound quality. This has nothing to do with a grandfather clock.

Love, love, love this app. Nice sitting in my office when it goes off while I work on a watch. Just wish it auto started on a reboot.

Nice concept, poor execution.

I stops overnight on sleep mode sometimes...I keep the app on home screen and just start back up in the morning...

What did you do to the beautiful realistic chimes? I am so sorry you changed them.

Don't know what the problem is but it just keeps shutting down with an error mrssage

Good app for someone looking for a good grandfather clock...... Developer should add auto-start option in setting.

Could not get the Big Ben chimes to work also it would be good to be able to choose which Media channel to use suggest notification

This is a great little app. I remember back in the day my aunt and uncle had a grandfather clock that made the first chime that's available on this app. It always caught my attention how beautiful it sounded. However, I would recommend the creator of this app to work a little bit more on the countdown chimes. They cut off too quickly. I also would like to see the tick-tock sounds added.

Thank you for reply to my first complaints few things we're fix, thank you but the stop buton activate by it's self, so it work for les then an hour or two then it goes to stop mode,I will unestall it,and will check in a month or so.

It helps me to keep track of the time on crazy mornings in our house and traffic.

Used to work fine on my old phone but on my Oneplus One it doesn't when phone is in sleep

I realy like this apps. It's remains me when i was young. But why don't you add some auto run at boot feature

This is a nice simple program which works well. The sound quality is excellent but cuts off before it has finished fading. As another reviewer has said, this is a particular problem with the hourly strikes. Otherwise it would be five stars.

Werk klok slag good. Needs the option of Start automatic when the tablet is switched on.

I set it up to ring hourly and it doesn't.

I love this app but it causes other apps to turn on and run in the background. Moment.

Love it! Only wish there was animated wallpaper to go with it along with a tic tic sound.

Nice thought but drained my fully charged phone in 4.5 hours. Three month old intercept.

Contrary to previous comments. . .I love this app. As I travel in my RV all over the USA I miss my clock. This is an exact of chimes and sleeping.

Sounds just like the old grandfather clock at my grandparents' house in 1960! I didn't know how much I missed that comforting sound till I heard it again as I fell asleep now. Thank you!!!!

Pal, this app is excelent, use the notification volume instead of the media volume for the chimes

Samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1. App regularly crashes when chiming mid day. This happens randomly every few days.

What's up? The first 24 hrs. was heaven to my ears. Then it just quits..I guess I can say, if your not ready to purchase the full app. DON'T BOTHER ! REALLY ANNOYING TO HAVE AN APP. THAT STOPS AFTER 24hrs.!!!

I LOVE IT because it chimes in when I can't see my phone, keeps great track of time, and geeze, it sounds neat.

Seriously???!!! Media volume..!!?? Why?? Ever imagined what a big embarrassing situation it'll be when an user puts his phone to silent but forgets that this cool app rins on media volume which the poor fellow might have set to full in a meeting..!!
