About Tomahawk Player Beta

Please keep in mind that Tomahawk and the different plugin apps are still under development. Bugs and crashes are still to be expected.

Music is everywhere, now you don’t have to be. Tomahawk, the critically acclaimed multi-source music player, is now available on Android. Given the name of an artist, album or song Tomahawk will find the best available source and play it - whether that be from paid or free online streaming services, local network sources or your phone’s local storage.

Tomahawk for Android also syncs your history, your loved tracks, artists, albums and your playlists to/from the desktop version of Tomahawk via our new music community, Hatchet. On Hatchet you can hear your friends' favorite tracks and see what they're currently listening to.

It starts up fine, but it did not let me download my playlists over Hatchet, and it ran for maybe 5 minutes before breaking. I just get a white screen and the controls menu is empty. The desktop app for my computer is good, but this app did not deliver on any of its promises.

Y70%
by Y####:

Just have a white screen after initial setup. Got it to work once but soon discovered it couldn't import my Spotify playlist. Not to mention the interface felt really annoying, just needs to be simple like other music players Its a shame because The idea is great because I have music all over spread across local, Spotify and SoundCloud however it has been executed poorly. I would quite happily rate 5 stars for a working app

Y70%
by Y####:

Can see the potential. But many features do not work at all (when searching in only finds songs but no artist or albums. Spotify plugin is also broken). Please update it, would love to use it.

V70%
by V####:

Literally can't get it to work, tried on a number of different devices. Says that Spotify is connected then just goes to a blank screen. I love the idea that this app is aiming for, just a shame it's completely useless.

Y70%
by Y####:

I was initially excited because it has a spot to add a Subsonic server. However, it doesn't work, so I was unable to test this app further (which was the only reason I had installed it). I'll try it again at some point after it's been updated. Hopefully Subsonic functionality will be implemented.

Y70%
by Y####:

I like the concept of the app but I wanted spotify regular and my phone music but I can't. I wouldn't even mind ads I just want to combine my music thats not on spotify.

F70%
by F####:

Simply, doesn't work. Logged into Play Music, no music comes up and won't log into my premium Spotify account. Waste of memory.

Y70%
by Y####:

I was looking for a app like this for a long time. So far works good, but can you work on the interface? It doesn't look so modern.

by F####:

Still no fix for the issue with Amazon Music. Error message says username and password are incorrect. They are correct! Doesn't work with the nexus 5x or the Google Pixel.

Y70%
by Y####:

I have tried to load Amazon music. Keeps telling me wrong log in or password. I have checked and my user name and password are correct. It just won't sign in.

Y70%
by Y####:

No album artist or genre view. Spotify connection just didn't work. I can see why someone would like it but it's missing fundamental features for anyone with a local library.

G70%
by G####:

It's a cool concept, but I can't login to Amazon music even with the correct login info and region. I'm also not sure, but I don't see YouTube music as an option which is where about half of my favorite songs are found since they're indie.

Y70%
by Y####:

Literally doesn't work. At all. Blank screen. No one has mentioned the app in months. No way to figure out if the project is still active. Cool idea but wasted when it doesn't work.

Y70%
by Y####:

Completely broken. Can't log in to Google Music, Spotify, or Subsonic. Anything that requires login, it seems. So, pretty worthless.

Y70%
by Y####:

As soon as I connected GPlayMusic and Spotify, I just see a blank white, black and pink screen. I just installed it today and I could not use it.

M70%
by M####:

This app is work in progress, yet the potential is there for this to be a great app, the ability for it to connect to other services such as soundcloud and Spotify is unique and useful, yet dispite it's features it doesn't have the stability needed.

Y70%
by Y####:

Love the concept. Would be more useful with Pandora plugin. Charts doesn't work. No album art or extra info for Google Play Music.

Won't load anything after initial successful setup

K70%
by K####:

Outstanding open source music player! However it doesn't sort by Album Artist, and has trouble connecting to my phone's inbuilt equalizer. Other than that, it's brilliant!

H70%
by H####:

Doesn't do what I need it to do. I get an infinite loading screen when attempting to log in with both SoundCloud and Spotify premium. Sorry, I'm sure it's good if it works though

Y70%
by Y####:

The spotify wont work even with plug in and premium smh

B70%
by B####:

Love the idea. But don't seem to be working at all. Sadly

T70%
by T####:

Album artwork not showing up. As well as the UI is all white, needs to have darker themed UI

C70%

I've kept my eyes on Tomahawk for awhile now, waiting for the day they'd release an app. I discovered it four or five years ago, but had already moved beyond desktops/laptops by that point, which was the only place the program could be used. What it does is aggregate all the various places you've got your music stored into one sleek-looking app. YouTube, Spotify, local - it's great! (Side note: someone needs to make something like this for tv). No kinks for me, works great a month in.

Y70%
by Y####:

It's light, beautiful and with great animations. The downloaded album art and artist images don't stay when offline. Please fix this.

Scare bad spirits to carry away curse of the white man from town.

But it devours my RAM (~100MB) and doesn't allows you to play by folder. Most people organize their musics by folders.

Y70%

I have tried to load Amazon music. Keeps telling me wrong log in or password. I have checked and my user name and password are correct. It just won't sign in.

Y70%

It keeps telling me that my username and password are wrong for Amazon which is not the case I triple checked

L70%
by L####:

Great concept in theory, but after initial installation and setting up Deezer integration I get a blanc interface and nothing works. If you'll fix that, I'd love do install it again.

Y70%

I understand you can't let people cache soundcloud stuff, but my own ampache server? Please?

With an insane amount of plugins. Should apply ssl to their site tough

Don't know why it is impossible for apps to let you add directories. I can only play songs individually from a file browser. I cannot play them from my "collection" because they don't show up and there is no way for me to tell the app where to look. 0 stars

Y70%
by Y####:

No content in the side menu anymore. Was ok then the next time I used the app it had gone. No options, no setting, nothing to select. - Removed and reinstalled fixed the missing content but still can't add amazon music. Claims the user/pass is incorrect. - no visible content, menus, text, icons etc again. Unusable. Nexus 5X

Y70%
by Y####:

The best player I've tried on all devices. Everything in one place with good design. I just hope it will get some common features like sleep timer and show album covers instead of artists

B70%
by B####:

I'm really excited for the final version, but when I open it or search for something, it doesn't give me anything.

Y70%
by Y####:
