Signal Private Messenger

I'd love to use this more but I've already spent hours over the past several months trying to get it to reliably notify incoming messages on two phones - using the relevant help info page. Not yet sure if that is sorted out. Need to be able to trust it!

Absolutely essential app for encrypted conversations. Great if you need to share sensitive bank information, for example.

Please add notification for if other person takes a screenshot of chat... Also, messages on both side should be deleted if one person deletes it like in telegram App.

Interesting app. Love the encryption, but "crystal-clear voice or video calls" doesnt happen... They're staticy. I have a LG v20 so not a cheap phone by any means. I call people that also have expensive phones and it is not nearly as clear as just using regular data to make my call so that is why 4 out of 5 stars

Signal is a great app of course and some of the best encryption you can get. Downsides are that it is centralized (which does make it easier), and the app now is very full featured and so requires a lot of permissions. A light version that needs fewer permissions would be nice

I don't get the few bad reviews about this. I've used it for over 2 years now and have had zero problems with it across a few different phones. Love it. I only use it with other friends that have Signal though. Use my regular app for normal SMS. Maybe that's the difference?

I mostly loved this app but crashes are happening constantly. I'll just finish a long message and it #@!! crashes right before I'm about to send! I'll return when you fix this. Suggestion: backup the message as it's being written so it can be restored if there's a crash.

Signal is a very good no-nonsense app and has replaced the default messaging on my android OS phone. The only reason I rate it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the app constantly nags you to invite your contacts to use Signal. This popup bar comes back even after being dismissed and it is really annoying. An option to disable this feature or only ask once would greatly enhance the usability of this app. It seems like an oversight that should have already been addressed...

Having trouble backing up texts. Tried to switch to different sms app and won't transfer messeges.

I've used Signal for quite some time now. It's fast, great GUI and big, but easy configuration settings. This app is a must-have if you require security and a reliable txt app

Used to love this app but now it just crashes constantly. Unuseable. Over one year later it's still hot garbage that barely works half the time.

My only bad experience is that older phones sometimes cannot display my MMS messages. Otherwise, awesome.

Why did I wait so long to try this app? It's so easy to get started with. So many features and options.

Must have app on these days in age. So many (WhatsApp, Allo are just few ) have integrated Signal's technology for end to end encryption. That is awesome... Five stars from me.

Best messaging app ive ever used. Only option I'd like to see added is the ability to remove individuals from the groups without them having to do it themselves.

Sometimes text messages delay for hours before you receive them.

Contacts take forever to sync, please fix it.

Why can't I proceed without giving sms read permissions? It says to make verification easy, give signal permission to read SMS, but I don't want to. Why can't I proceed after that? I can manually enter the verification code you know

One of the best apps I have ever downloaded. I like how you can verify people R real. I recommend it 2 everyone.

Keeps conversations between Signal users quiet. Call reception is negatively effected when talking with other Signal users, however.

Best secured app I ever used. Highly recommended to anyone looking to secure and control messaging.

Please add support for rear camera when video chatting. On iOS too.

Security and privacy are rare these days, this is an absolute gem if you value yours.

Does everything it says very well, low resource overhead, highly configurable.
