What are users saying about SSH Tunnel

Y70%
by Y####:

The reconnect (used for tunneling) does not work when using flightmode. It loses connection, retries once and then terminates forever. No further retry when flightmode ends ..

Q70%
by Q####:

No support for the RSA keys protected with password (selection only for user login and password for the SSH servers).

X70%
by X####:

says Requires root for advanced features , but actually will not do ANYTHING without root, -Lies.

Q70%
by Q####:

Perfect for what I need, and really easy to set up. But why does it tell you to root the device, when it's not necessary for a basic SSH tunnel? Also the vibration alerts could be toned down a bit!

C70%
by C####:

For once I'm completely lost. How do I activate it? Am i supposed to purchase an IP address? I need a USA IP address for my phone. Please help, instructions don't explain.

Q70%
by Q####:

App would be great if it would read rsa key files but for some reason will not connect to ssh server running key pairs of 2048 or above.

C70%
by C####:

Good features and interface, but I've switched to "SSH Autotunnel" now that they fixed bugs. This app, SSHtunnel, is unsupported, contains flurry ad software (but doesn't seem active??), and has security issue (google for info). Sorry but I can't recommend this.

C70%
by C####:

On android M, It is connected but the tunneling future not work. It should be the iptables issues

C70%
by C####:

Seems to connect, gives me RSA key info. If I check "what's my IP", it hasn't changed and I can't access anything on the remote network.

C70%
by C####:

Android ssh server disconnect when https try to pass through. I recommend connectbot ssh to be a socks server.

M70%
by M####:

On my old device running Android 4.1.1 this apps works flawlessly. But on my other device running Android 4.4.4, it keeps disconnecting after a while. Please fix it.

T70%
by T####:

Although I couldn't use my dropbearkey generated key, with user/pass it is working perfectly.

C70%
by C####:

Everything is well set on my rooted device, the app connects to the server but it doesn't put the traffic through the socks server

T70%
by T####:

Seamless connection to my Linux box for tunneling on a Galaxy S4, very slick and fast. However, I would have liked DNS requests to be tunneled to the Linux box as well, instead of being sent to the Google servers, because my server resolves local/private domains whereas Google can't.

Works for me. From China, using app specific proxy and dns proxy. I had some problems w global for some reasons. By the way I am on CM11 4.4.3. VPS w SSHD in HK.. configured as NAT

C70%
by C####:

Counter intuitive interface, hard to use, need to create multiple profiles for multiple ports, can't forward privileged ports even with root access granted. UI needs serious reactor.

C70%
by C####:

as i promise... 5 stars for this. it fixed fc issue yesterday. now i am on 4.4.1 CM11 running without any problem. nice job. nice product :)

C70%
by C####:

Does not work Not root, but not using special functionality either. Logs in to server, but does not reroute anything.

C70%
by C####:

Individual app routing doesn't work on Lollipop anymore. This app used to be perfect for per-app secure connections.

G70%
by G####:

Pretty lame actually. Doesn't always work and screw your connections most of the time. I still prefer juicessh and the old school ssh in terminal over this anyday. While :; do ssh ; sleep 1; done . Doesnt even cut or screw your connection even if you go out of 3G range and it'll just re-tunnel you back into server

K70%
by K####:

It shows that it's connected, but doesn't redirect connections - though it does in other OSes. Please get this fixed! The beta version doesn't even connect :( plzzzzzzzz fix it as soon as possible :'(

Working perfectly on kitkat(except clash of clans) , but not on lollipop and marshmallow. Is there a way to make it work with clash of clans? (I could do it with help of vpn, 'your freedom' is the only one which is working for clash of clans, but it is has limited time for free users)

@Max LV - Can we please get this updated to support android lollipop? I see your other less functional apps are still receiving updates but this one doesnt? Makes no sense!!!

I've used this app off and on for YEARS. No problems. You chumps who are having issues need to lern2root. Currently proxied all my connections thru a VPS, no issues whatsoever. (Galaxy S4 rooted STOCK 4.4.4 rom. Srsly. Not even Cyanogen. Just root your phone & even keep the ROM already on it.)

If your PuTTy keys aren't accepted you have to generate them with OpenSSh's ssh-keygen. Then open PuTTy's keygen at top select conversion and navigate to where ssh-keygen saves keys and select private key.Copy public RSA displayed by putty and paste that within routers web ui.You don't need to save private key in putty just use original from ssh-keygen.Place private key in the directory you create on phones SD card.Under settings in SSHTunnel app select key file manager and navigate to your directory √ it

Not yet ready to use. It shows signs of connecting to the host, offers to import key, then seems to connect to host. Outer IP shows the proxied IP, but... the system doesn't seem to use the resulted proxy -- neither global, nor app-based.

It connects to my SSH server but doesn't route anything through it.

Doesn't work on HTC One M7, 5.1 GPE

Doesn't work on lollipop. No traffic is redirected through tunnel when on cellular but using a WiFi tablet it redirects correctly.

Work great on kitkat, but now it doesn't work on Lollipop. Hope the developer update this app.

I've had good experiences with this app on older android versions. Now I am on lollipop. I rooted my phone to be able to use the global proxy features of this app. But it doesn't work on lollipop. Connections are not being redirected to the proxy at all. Useless! Please fix.

im rooted. the problem lies somewhere in IPTABLES. im trying to forward all of my phones trafic through socks to (what i believe is) a dynamic port that ssh tunnel creates. the thing is that it doesnt work at all. previously i used proxydroid (which now has the same behaviour as ssh tunnel). in terminal emulator i found out that the tunnel is opened in a IPv6 connection, wouldnt that be a problem? also on lollipop.

But, The connection Closed and won't reconnect automatically even checked the option,, please fix it ASAP

Unfortunately does not work with lollipop yet

X70%

Got it connected, but does not redirect globally or apk-specifically. You had one job, SSHTunnel.

If you installed busybox manually, this will not work.
