Silence

Okay at best. It has its limitations. I'm a big fan of Whisper Systems but still had many issues regarding dupilacte text, specially images. I've heard of other people with different mobile devices experience similar glitches. Can't send just any animated GIF because encrypted characters take for times the space.

It works well for my use which is 95% one-on-one texting. I haven't had any issues.

My default messaging app. Glitches on duplicates text.

Like your usual SMS, but without everybody in the middle reading your messages

I've been using this program for a long time with no problems until this morning it got amnesia and started forgetting contacts. I put the contacts back in and a few minutes later they disappear again

Best messaging app. My only issue is non-encrypted messages don't show up in my BB Hub. However that might be a BB issue.

I really love the app... I take one star because there is no message count on the icon. Otherwise works perfect.

This is great. I discovered something that signal does not have - the toggle to have received messages state what time they were SENT as opposed to received! I personally find this single feature invaluable, causes less confusion and I don't know why no other SMS app has this.. anyhoo the rest of the app is great too. Love the dark theme!

For some reason, every time I get anonymous sms, the app fails, I have to uninstall and lose all my messages. I try to remember to back them up occasionally, but not always, it's not automatic - update, everything is going fine now

Nice looking app. Remarkably similar (visually) to Signal Private Messenger. Sadly though - this app also can't increase its viewed font size (from within the app).

Dear Dev, This is awesome; although, I'd really like signal's stickers instead of Android's - or at least am option to support both .. Thank You.

Update: "v0.15.6" still "NO" improvement on the requests for the app, 1 • Badge counter issue still "NOT" fixed. 2 • Location sharing "MISSING" in send attachment options. 3 • Favourites contact speed dail bar on top of messages "MISSING". 4 • Fingerprint support in passphrase "MISSING". 5 • Ability to lock messages from been deleted easily in conversations "NOT" available. 6 • "NO" built-in sheduler. So my lower rating stands as it is, a 3 ☆ app until you acknowledge and improve the app from user feedback,

Perfect... BUT there is something missing... Why can't we plan to send sms ? It will be good if you can implement that... Choose date and time for a sms to be send ! Nice application and secure, you can customize a lot of things.

This is better than relying on data based messaging apps as SMS is P2P in a way.

Needs an option to see system emojis instead of stock Android ones. Inputting one emoji from the keyboard just to see a different one in the app is no good. Signal has this why can't silence );

* Please bring dual sim support so that I can rate 5(*)'s + EDIT: SMS over a pure LTE network does work. But letting me select which SIM its using to send a message is non-obvious though its possible/available * Add to that the requirement of this app needing to be the default SMS app is a little tedious. Hope google improves that if you guys cant work around it. * But even importing encrypted messages would be good enough for now which its not working right now.

So simple and intuitive, and reputedly secure. Uses SMS to send and receive texts, so doesn't require Internet connection which others do. So far can't fault it.

I've compared this to all the top apps available and if you're intelligent enough to know that security and encryption are two vital aspects of messaging and texting, you'll appreciate everything this app has to offer. The developer is responsive and helpful, and Silence's features and customization options are exactly what I want/need in an SMS app. (Dev - can we get any more colour options for the app overall?)
