SF311 for Android
I suppose it's exactly what you'd expect from a government app - it does what it does reasonably well with an ugly UI. But unfortunately, there are a lot of things that it could also do that it doesn't, and it's a bummer. For example, you can't report broken parking meters through the app. But SFMTA says to call 311 to report broken meters. So why can't I report it in the app?
Overall the app does well what it is intended to do. Progressive enhancement realized. App keeps getting better. The photo problem was fixed, so I raised the star count. Good app but compared to large corporate apps, seems brittle and have a stuck in the past UI. GPS has improved, but still too often will give down the block or other side of street, and is clunky to correct.
Thank all and everyone involved with making this app. It's like the best thing that ever happened. I can refill a pothole, dry snitch on people, report abandoned cars, trash on the street, graffiti oh lawd I love it!
I reported dumping and rotting garbage in the south end of McClaren park nine months ago. The ticket is still open and the problem is a few orders of magnitude worse, with daily dumping of rotting garbage and household items. I'm going to use other channels from now on.
I reported a few things and is being not weeks but months and they just putting close. No government accountability for nothing. The app is just for show.
Application consistently "Failed to Sync" and "Register Reporter". Turns out "Registering Reporter" is just entering your information into the "Reporter" window at the bottom. Haven't figured out how to get it to sync yet.
Have submitted several incidents, they get ignored, not dealt with, then simply closed without comment months later.
Are these government apps in a contest for which has the most horrendous UI?
Gets results where sfpd cant be bothered.
Fast response! Thank you.
I still can't use this app. Every time I try to submit, I get a toast saying "Failed to create request. Could not connect to server." All of my other apps seem to work fine and clearing the cache didn't help.
I reported an on going issue of a recurring encampment on Polk street and all they did was close my report! And last night a body was hauled away... DOA!!! Great job of doing nothing

Address boxes don't work. You write one address and it changes to another. Kind of a problem when reporting something and using an address as identifier
Lived in SF all my life this app helps I have seen DPW clean our streets and they follow and respond to the input of humans that use this app
Use it everyday
The photo problem was fixed, so I raised the star count. Good app but compared to large corporate apps, seems brittle. Too frequently can not connect to server, then waste of time. GPS has improved, but will often give other side of block, and is clunky to correct.
GPS very inaccurate. Hard to make a pin point location. Map feature is lacking. I have target on location and it shows an address 3 blocks away, drag target around the area with address never changing. If target feature is not going to work, at least let us enter the address manually.
Isn't this app for my benefit? Don't be running when i didn't open it!
Have a Samsung Galaxy S4 (MK2 4.3 version). After updating I cannot view any requests, including my own. Please fix. ------------------ Found a fixed. I had to remove the program and installed it again.
After recent update, app no longer posts the pictures. Frequently can not connect to server, then waste of time.
Easier than calling.
Stuff I report sometimes is fixed within hours. Some takes a few days.
App works well and makes it quick and easy to submit requests. Was shocked to see how quickly some requests are processed.
I can't report things that are available in the iPhone version, like homeless encampments.
Some how the number of post allowed by any on user per day needs to be limited. Some users are posting 50-100 posts per day burying any other posts.
Stopped working. Pls fix it
GPS suggested address is often wrong, clunky to correct. Sometime slow server, and if one keeps walking a duplicature report created. Does not include way to report graffiti and issues on buses. The app is okay, but the slow server, clunky GPS interface, and lack of obvious categories such as graffiti on the bus, makes me lower the rating to 2 Stars. I would like to see the app improved.
GPS often inaccurate and challenging to correct. Starting last month requests never get updated when updates show on other devices. Generally this app always has three or four fairly significant bugs going on but generally functional.
I can't install the app. It stops downloading at 83% every time. I think it's a problem with the provider's server.
GPS suggested address is often wrong, clunky to correct. Sometime slow server, and if one keep s walking a duplicature report created. Drop down choice list includes some random but omits regulars. _ About 25 to 33% of the time the report closed without doing the work. This app provides no good way to track wrongly closed reports.
Had to reinstall
Buggy.
Stopped working. Pls fix it
As other reviewers have pointed out, my reports and others' reports are 'none'. It's been this way for months. What's the hold-up in getting these problems fixed?
This is a great tool for the public to easily connect to SF Gov't to report service requests. Here is the problem: I updated the App as recommended, and it erased my requests and all other requests by users. I did get a "service change" prompt just now, but app still shows empty.
Update broke this app. Please fix this great tool. It can be very useful, and it was, before this last update. Would be 5 star if it still worked.

If not showing requests, reinstall fixed it for me

The app should be developed continuously. Right now the address detection system is pretty bad. There should be an option to include submissions to contact the police for non emergency requests. Also, the open and closed status is very inaccurate. Some of my tickets are open, even though I know they are closed. Some are marked closed when the request has been transferred...or even when nothing has been done.
