DIRECTV Remote Control

This app is not a scam. It does not work directly with your receiver(s). It connects via your Wi-Fi connection. If your trying anything else it will not work. Which means you need to have internet networked into your DirecTV network via a cinema connection kit. So your novice home owner may have issues. But it works very well if set up right. I drive my son crazy because I can change channels from any room in the house.

I ended up losing my physical remote control for directv and I was getting frustrated when my brother suggested I download a remote control.. At first I was skeptical but realized what do I have to lose and downloaded it.. This actually works!! I was able to change the channel from this repetitive infomercial! Literally WOWED me. Keep it up!

I love this app!! Don't tell your family about it right away.?.Have some fun first!!!! Change the channels from the next room...just one at a time to begin with....then just go crazy!!! Use your imagination!!!! Its nice to have favorites listed all together and what's currently on and then just tapping it changes the channel for u!!!!

Ap works well but I don't appreciate the phishing ads along the bottom. I think I will delete and choose another ap without the criminal elements associated.

Ive used other directv apps but this has a guide that tells what is playing on your favorite channels. The "whats playing now" feature doesnt work but I have a crappy samsung repp

All comments must be a scam. I have a brand new receiver and app cant find it. When I try to manually enter it brings keypad up to ebter my ip address except for one problem, theres only nuumbers on keypad and i can not enter ip without a dot.... a period..... u know ............................ . ...one of those........ doubt it will ever get fixed, thaanks for nothing

This is a pretty cool app! As soon as a downloaded it worked. The only problem I am having is there is no volume button. If u guys make that work this app will b a perfect 5!

The current showing didn't work but despite that its great. Especially compared to the other apps like it. Its great to mess with my family from another room.

When I Can't find the elusive remote I can whip out my phone and voila! Change the channel flip through the guide or view my recorded shows.

Wont read my receiver and says functions may not work. Need to work out some bugs and think it would be a great app!!

Not fully functional. It doesn't show currently playing. Hasn't since I got it. Favorites worked for a while but stopped. Will give more stars when it does everything it's supposed to.

Having one remote can be a pain. I no longer have to search for the remote because it's rig on my phone & it works great.

Works without problem. It is very annoying to have to scroll down to find more buttons. The buttons should be smaller to fit the screen.

My S5, it worked fine. My S7 Edge, it don't work. My Genie is connected to the WiFi and so is my S7, but the app doesn't detect the Genie. It says to add it manually but there is no option to do that.

I can actually change chanels and control my DVR with this app very useful. And more when I have no idea where my control is or when my husband does not want to change the chanel lol

Wont work with the sub receivers in the house ?? Works wirh the main one. But id like to know how to make it work in my room not just the living room, any help?

This app works for the most part without problems. Recently it was a lifesaver as my dogs chewed up regular directv remote, and it seems to be able to most of what original remote did

I can only imagine what this developer could do with this GREAT app If DTV did not put so many restrictions on the permissions he has to work with. Well worth the donation to help support further development or just a small way to say " THANK YOU" for your hard work. NORM :-)

You must make sure you are on the same network as the directv. I will be donating, by far the best DirecTV remote. The only thing that would make this better would be the ability to customize the remote button layout.

It works just as is stated. The only issue I have is I emailed the developer with a question and got no response. As long as you are aware of this, there's no issue.

It works to control the main receiver and DVR in the front room hut not the smaller c31/700 boxes in the bedrooms. Not the fault if the app devs just wish it worked because the boxes each get YouTube, Pandora, other apps. Seems there should be a way to get a Wi-Fi remote to work with them as well.

This app works perfectly as advertised, my little granddaughter lost the remote control to the Direct TV Box.. so I downloaded this app in hoping that it would work well enough to at least change the stations, come to find out it does much more than that, it works just like the original remote control we're missing.. Will not allow you to correctly add ip address with periods between numbers will not connect please update.....

I honestly downloaded this expecting it not to work... that was over 3 weeks ago, I finally decided to try it out today and it works!! I did get a splash screen of telling me I may need an update to the app for it to work, but when I checked there were no updates available... so when I tried it anyway it actually worked!! Well done! Very impressed!

Worked perfectly on 3 TVs that I tried. Worked from 20 ft away and 15 feet above (that may depend on what device type using) I think the only bad thing I can say is it doesn't have a volume button.

I'm using my HTC EVO 3D, and the buttons are a bit large but it's so much fun!!! Also you can save your favorites and see what's on...

Couldn't recognize my Bedroom Receiver used other DircTV app and that one found both of them. Thanks but no things found a better app with greater features.

It enables you to save the channels you use the most and then you can see what is on the channels you have selected at a glance. Others is also a section that acts just like the traditional remote. The only real downside is that there is no volume control.

Their isn't a volume button so that's a downer and I think they should have one besides that I think its great and it works perfectly with my TV. Also when I can't find my remote I steal my sister's or my phone and that's good so everyone who wants an app like this they should get it so everyone should have it definitely

This control helps me be much more mobile. I don't need to go looking for the remote. It's in my hand!

I say it works better than my actual DTV remote because it doesn't have to be pointed towards the DTV box to work. Let's say I brought my phone into the bathroom (not that I actually would, but just as an example, lol) & forgot to pause my show. I can do so right there from the bathroom! No you can't operate volume, but technically neither can the DTV remote unless you program the "universal remote" function of the remote to do TV functions. TIP: Download "Stay Alive" to keep device on while using this app.

I love this app especially when I misplace the remote. Its also fun for pranking people to think there's a ghost in the house lol

Works Adequately if your remote disappears or falls apart. Much easier than dealing with Direct TV and paying for replacement. Biggest downside: I have an older DVR that according to Direct TV is updated yet the app keeps telling me to update my Direct TV, MY BOX, AND THE APP when not 1 have an update! Other downfalls include: Even with my box in the direct line of fire changing channels by number, or using up & down/right & left, and searching take forever to navigate. It's usable and unlooseable! Peace...

I can actually change the channel without being room, so while my boyfriends watching TV, I periodically change the station or turn it off :) He thinks we have a hinky receiver lol

Galaxy s4 has infrared blaster. I use watch-on remote for d-tv. Works great just wish I didn't have to switch between apps

I called directv to get a replacement remote since the one i had stopped working. Downloaded the app and saved myself $25. The app works great.

It on believable how this technology operations. I love my smartphone remote better thsn I do my directtv original remote
